This is a challenge for intermediate/beginning runners. If you are an intermediate/beginning runner (you currently run fewer than 15 miles per week and have not run 10k/6mi. in one day in the past year (as of 5/10/09)), feel free to join. If you are an intermediate/beginning runner, ignore the “private” setting. Read the instructions/description and find the secret to joining. You’re on your honor, though. If you don’t qualify per the instructions, please don’t join. There are plenty of challenges available for more advanced runners. Good luck and let’s get running! |

Thanks for the invite! You asked if I’m a beginning runner – is there anything less than beginner? That’s where I am! I think I ran something like .35 of a mile on my last effort on the C25K… But I’ll give this my best shot! |

Yeah, same here…although it’s kindof cheating because currently I’m actually doing the couch to 5K, which is walking/running at week 2. But I’m getting there! |

I hate running, but what the heck. |

Quick question – if I’m doing intervals, like the beginner Couch to 5K programs, only the miles actually run should be entered here, right? The majority of it is walking… |

That’s what I do and kind of hope others do. (My GPS tells me after the run how much distance I covered in each speed, so it breaks up my walking and running for me.) I think mikeycooper had a good way of figuring it out for people who do th c25k/intervals on a treadmill that he posted at the last chariots of fire challenge. |

Thanks! I think I have it pretty well figured out by time, paces, etc. (calculator required…), but I’ll take a look at the previous CoF postings anyway. |
