I thought I would have a shot at keeping up with the leaders in this one but I don’t have the time or the ability to do 650 reps of the incline bench press in one day, especially after doing 425 reps on the flat bench the day before. I probably don’t get that many reps in during an entire year. But I’ll keep logging my training and we’ll see what happens.

yeah i am working out four to five days a week and i am no where near those levels at all. I am not super strong but i would have to double my weight and double my workouts to reach those levels.

I Biked 100 Miles! I Lost 5 Lbs!

just out of curiosity, I have noticed on a few of the workouts there are multiple posts for the same workout, is it counting each of those towards the totals?

In the words of the guys on ESPN’s NFL Countdown – C’mon man! I’m hesitant to call people out, but if you’re going to post 15 sets of 50 reps on the incline bench then I’ve gotta see a video. I’ve been lifting for a long time, and I’ve trained with some really strong guys and some dudes that were into extremely high volume and I’ve NEVER seen anything that comes close to that. Especially when there are sessions earlier in them week with 500+ reps of the same exercise. If it’s legit, good for you I guess, but it seems way out of the realm of possibility.

I’m not hating hoss, I’m just being honest. I’d seriously like to see a video of somebody knocking out 750 reps on the bench in a single training session because I find it difficult to believe that somebody can do it with any weight on the bar. That would be some prime material for YouTube. Maybe even Guinness Book of World Records material too.

It’s looks like you’ve done 2000 reps on the incline bench in about a week. I’ve never seen anything close to that done and I’ll be honest with you, I find it hard to believe that it is actually possible for anybody other than a truly elite athlete. But hey, maybe you’re an elite athlete with a passion for low weight, ultra high rep bench press work.

Good luck to you and raw109, it’s a two horse race it seems. My lowly 3 rep set of deadlifts at 480 lbs tonight isn’t going to keep me in the running.

Hey Guys…You won’t have to worry much about me for the rest of the month. i am in Hawaii for the next 2 weeks and I doubt that I will find a gym that will accomodate my weightlifting. My lifting is for real. On chest or leg days, I can put in a 100,000 pound work-out. I can come no where near that on back and shoulder days. I was doing cruches with alot of weight to build up my core. That has contributed to the weight I have lifted. I am only 200 pounds, but have been lifting since high school. I can bench press over 150% of my weight on a good day when my elbows cooperate. That being said, the only guy I have ever seen that can do the bench work-out of Melhigi was Igor Oshansky of the Chargers and Cowboys. He weighted 300 pounds and did 40 reps at 225 at the combine (real bench press, not a half ass rep). I doubt that Melhigi’s bench reps are full reps to the chest and up to a near elbows locked position. I will be glad to do my work-out with any of you when you are in San Diego.
