Hey Angela, I’m going to use this to try to get back on track after my own injury. I’ve been having a tough time, have gained a bit. I hurt my foot too, thinking maybe a stress fx. but they haven’t come to that conclusion yet. You can do it!! Hope I can too :) |

Thanks for joining soobie! Hope this helps you out! They think mine is an avulsion of the 5th metatarsal – I saw the fracture line on the xray. I’m just lucky it’s still lined up though. My biggest problem has been calf soreness though – that and this overall restless feeling. This is my chance to try some new things too and really really watch my diet. |

Count me in! Not that I think I’ll be pushing you much—you’re still making way more progress than me. I work in the office at a ballet school and fracture of the 5th metatarsal is said to be one of the most common injuries doctors see (right after sprained ankles, I think!). Are you still in the boot? One of our adult dancers is in a cast and goes around on a knee scooter. Now she says her other leg is getting so strong she can do one-legged squats forever! She’s like you—always looking for the silver lining! |

I’m in a post-op shoe – not really a boot, just a stupid wooden shoe. The PT did say I should probably be in a boot but the Dr. went with this shoe. The shoe does not fit right and it’s falling apart already, I made some minor modifications to it to try and get it to fit better. I also bought some cool pink leopard print shoe laces to awesome it up a little more. |

I’m in. You can work out the upper body, but you have to take it easy on the foot. I broke my toe. It was so bad that I had to have hardware inserted. i walked on it too early and the bottom line is that I developed a staph infection. I spent 3 weeks in the hospital, over $100,000 in medical bills, and I had a PIC line in my arm for 6 months and had to run an IV 4 hours a day. Now that should convince you to be careful. And I was a lot younger when this happened. |

Only about 12 days more to go and so far so good! It’s been a pretty crappy November but I’m still holding on! Hope everyone else is having a better November than me! |
