Most pushups in November, 2009
Thanksgiving is coming (for those of us in the U.S., anyway)! Last chance to bulk up your "breast meat" before slumping into the couch to nod off in front of a football game. You may not incline yourself by putting your hands up on something (they must be on the floor with your feet.. and no "knee" pushups, either). However, if you want to put your hands far apart or close together, that doesn't matter. Either way is fine. |
Congratulations to jemenake! They won this challenge on November 30, 2009.

There is NO WAY you did 184 reps in 12 minutes, Mac! |

that’s ’cos I captured the workout afterwards. Anyway, this thing is missing my captures on my daily workout, I need to keep deleting my workouts and then recapturing the pushups on this page. cheating at something like this is a little retarded. we’re not kids here – what would be the gain for me? Anyway, I’m doing the 100-pushup programme, so 200 a day is pretty much my minimum target at the moment, or at least as long as I can keep it up. Take it as a challenge and step up :-) |

Well, I like being in the lead and never lookin’ back. That’s why I waited until the stroke of midnight on Nov 1, to drop and start doing pushups. So, it’s a little frustrating when it appears that another just kinda went “Well, I did X reps earlier today, so I’ll enter them now… oh, hey, look… it’s after midnight. Whaddya know, they count in my challenge….”. True, though. Compared to the number of reps I’m sure we’re going to put in over the month, it’s not a big issue. |

It was tougher for me… I did the push-ups at 08h30am, captured them and then noticed that because I’m in a different timezone I had to delete them and re-capture them after 9am so that they would reflect correctly. Question is, are you entering yours in your workout log or on this page? For some reason when I enter them on my workout log they don’t add up over here – this is the only challenge that I’ve experienced this problem with. Anyway, good luck, I enjoy a challenge, so maybe we can spur each other on! |

I’m entering them here. I think DailyBurn might have a few different types of “pushup”. For example, they differentiate between “pull-up” (overhand) and “chin-up” (underhand). If you are in a pullup challenge and you’ve got a workout that logs chin-ups, then entering reps in your workout won’t count toward the challenge. So, my first suspicion is that DB is tracking two different kinds of pullups. You should enter 1 rep in the challenge page and 1 rep in the workout page and then go look at your workout log. See if it says you did two pushups or if it says “You did 1 of these things, and you did 1 of this other thing, too…”. |

Good heavens…. my shoulders are getting really sore. It hurts to even lean against a countertop at this point. Oy! I can’t wait until December 1. |

My triceps are killing me… My hands/forearms/fingers are starting to get sore too… |

I’ve come to the conclusion, given the pain in my chest/triceps, that doing this volume of push-ups EVERY day is just not good for you, I don’t think we’re giving our muscles a chance to recover/grow… I think it’s time to pull things back a bit. Mehagel, well done to stepping it up, Jemenake, well done, your numbers are impressive. |
