Calories and macros are the key. If you are getting too many calories from one group you will struggle with body fat. For instance if your current macros are 55% carbs 30%Protein and 15% Fat with 2000 calories you would see different results with 35% carbs 45%Protein and 20% fat with the exact same calories of 2000

Whey Isolate is the best choice post workout. There are numerous different types of protein and several different types of Whey. It has to do with what they are derived from and how they are processed. To keep it short Isolate absorbs the fastest into your blood stream which is crucial post work-out. You should also include a fast digesting carbohydrate post workout to replenish Glycogen. Waximaize is a good choice for this and the fastest digesting carbohydrate you can get.

As for the Optimum Nutrition, I sell all brands including Optimum and though its a pretty popular choice its by far not the best. Taste is below average and its not a true Isolate. Its blended with concentrate which is a cheaper slower version.
You can email me direct if you choose and I can give you better choices. I just don’t really want to post any favorites being I sell them all.

Chaddukes is correct that cholesterol is not directly related to blood lipid level. I currently consume 350 grams of protein per day with roughly 160-170g of it coming from various protein shakes and I have extremely low cholesterol levels. Chaddukes is however incorrect when stating the Soy is not a complete protein because it actually is. I dont use Soy because its biological value is far less than Whey but it is a complete protein

When you wake up is always a good idea, especially if you arent eating breakfast. Going with out food for 6-8 hours plus not eating when you wake is teaching your body to store. Post workout is also a good time to supplement protein along with a good fast digesting carbohydrate to restore glycogen levels.

I actually recommended pre and post as good times to intake protein. As for the post workout carbs you dont need to be lean you just need to choose the correct carbs and amounts. BCAA’s and Glutamine are good supplements indeed. Insulin levels wouldn’t spike because of either supplement but they increase protein synthesis and release hormones that stimulate muscle growth. To make a long story short you can’t go wrong with either time or both

Tivo Boy
I took a quick look at your nutrition today and the last time you posted and you are eating very large meals. It looks like you are eating 600-800 calories each meal and only eating 3-4 times per day. You macros are also pretty far off to really cut weight. Your macros have your fat and carbs to high and your protein to low. I suggest a 45-35-20 or 40-40-20 split. Getting your fats from lean meats, fish and omega fats is the best way to go. Your eating nuts but I suggest the unsalted natural version as opposed to roasted. I would be happy to help with a diet plan for you. I work with numerous NPC athletes on nutrition and lifting routines. Email me at info@getrippednutrition.com if you want me to help you.

Its a blanket statement. Many foods have Estrogen Hormones such as alfalfa, apples, beets, carrots, cherries, chickpeas, citrus fruits, black-eyed peas, eggs, cinnamon, celery, dairy foods, eggs, fennel seed, flax seeds, garlic, potatoes, wheat, yams, pomegranates, red beans, sunflower seeds, tomatoes and sage. This doesn’t mean that eating them will skyrocket your estrogen levels. He is lean because he probably has a well balanced diet and stays away from processed foods and excessive bad carbs.

Its not too many supplements at once. Most experts and tests show that 5g per day is all that is needed for proper creatine saturation. The best way to take it would be post workout just for the benefits of taking it with a fast digesting carbohydrate to help saturate in the blood stream faster. Mixing both with your protein shake is not a problem assuming the taste doesn’t bother you. What particular whey product are you taking? Is it a blend? Isolate? Are you taking the creatine and glutamine in powder form? Is the creatine Creapure?

EAS 100% Whey is pretty cheap. Its Whey concentrate and whey isolate so its not technically a blend but more a cheaper way to list 100% Whey on the title. There are actually Isolate’s that are similar in price and 100% Isolate. Dymatize and Cyto Whey Isolate are two of them. As for the Muscletech Celltech you could actually spend a lot less and get the same results. Your basically getting the creatine in a carbohydrate mix but paying quite a bit extra for it. I would suggest getting just straight micronized creatine monohydrate (cheap) and take that along with your glutamine while drinking your shake

It doesnt matter which you mix it with. I personally would mix it with protein because of the flavors versus the creatine which is usually fruit flavors.

Any protein post workout is better than none at all but the preferred choice would be a Whey Isolate along with a fast digesting carbohydrate such as Waximaize. Syntha 6 is a decent protein and tastes great but its profile is more of a meal replacement. Its pretty high in calories, carbs and fat for a standard blend protein.

For a pre game meal it should be very high in carbohydrates. Pasta is a very good choice as its hearty enough and its actually has a very low glycemic index so it will digest slowely and keep your energy levels up throughout the game. Because your only 15 I don’t necessarily recommend you taking any supplements especially highly caffeinated. I would highly recommend using Beta Alanine which is an amino acid. It prevents muscle fatigue and allows you to workout for very long periods of time. Here is a link. http://www.getrippednutrition.com/index.php?mai…

Sugars come in many various forms and all will effect diet differently and have different Glycemic ratings. I would focus on keeping sugar to an absolute minimum unless its coming from natural sources such as fruit. Remember every gram of sugar (Carbohydrate) is 4 calories. You would want most of your carbs to come from good sources.
