I think you are all set now. If you have any other questions, let us know. We encourage people to keep the foods open, so that other can correct errors, upload pictures, etc. Most of the time this leads to a more accurate food database. We take the Wikipedia philosophy. The Gyminee calculations do tend to recommend a diet high in protein. In order to get 150 grams of protein in a 2000 calorie diet, you have to work at it. Protein shake supplements are a great way to do that for some people. Also, if you don’t agree with what Gyminee gives you, you can always customize your goals. To add to this thread, one of the main things that we want as we build the API is a handful of really interested developers that will commit to building apps based on our API. We want to be able to justify the cost of building it out. If you are interested in being on that team, post here, so we can contact you by email when we are ready to push forward. Hello everyone. So, I just wanted to throw my hat in the ring on this discussion… Susan is one of our top contributors both on the blog and the forum. She has provided tons and tons of quality content, thoughtful dialog, and input that has been researched. I think she has clarified her position, and I am OK with her posting links that include affiliate links. If she wasn’t so involved on the site, I might have different opinions. Susan, I would just say, from now on, that when you do mention something that you have an affiliate link on to just mention it. I think that is the most honest. You definitely don’t have include a disclaimer on every post :-) And, thanks again for all you do for this community. It wouldn’t be the same without you. Moving on… |

Formulas are just basic estimates, and we do our best. Ultimately, I would try it and if it doesn’t work, then try a different value. We want to provide the tools for tracking, not necessarily give you the suggestions (that is up to a doctor!). Feel free to change your goals if you feel like they need to be changed. Interesting to read that interview… It has been a while for sure. I don’t know who transcribed that, but if you read that it sounds like I can’t talk in complete sentences. :-) Topic: General Discussion / Hello! |
