Wow.. I never imagined that I would be so close to the top…
What a shock! I’m 100% focused on my goals here and everything is going great so far.
By the way, I did not make a official video entry and I’m from outside the States, so, I’m on this just to motivate myself and hopefully others :)

Wholeheartedly agree! Digital scale is definitely (and obsessively, i admit) the only way I’m rolling for the last 3 months.

No expert here too, but I’ve been doing pretty much the same as brettb for the last 3 months, only eating less calories a day ( I weight a lot more than brettb) and I’m getting pretty good results so far.
I do Turbulence Training (weight and resistance) 3 days a week and finish those with 30 minutes interval training on the eliptical. The other 3 days I mix 45 minutes on the eliptical, walking, running or biking (cardio) and i’m resting 1 day per week.
I lost 35 lbs in the last 75 days, without losing any muscle mass (quite the contrary actually) and I’m feeling as good as I can remember for a long time.
Hope it helps.

I also have lost 7 inches on the waist and 4 inches on the chest in the last 3 months.. Dropped from 253 lbs at the end of July to 209 lbs today. Way over my best expectations. Lost pretty much all my clothes (yes, potato sacks now!), but cannot buy new ones until I reach my goal. Not complaining :) Still a long way to go, but I’m happy.

I’m much more cinic regarding rewards. I treat it as I don’t need any reward whatsoever.
I mean, I’m just doing the things I’m supposed to do to feel better again, as I shoud have done it from the beginning..
I think all the benefits I’m having, daily, due to the fact that I lost almost 50 lbs are rewarding enough for me, and believe me, a LOT has changed for the better.

Several things happened since I joined Dailyburn that I’m very proud of. Much like Jbaird, I inspired a lot of people to get healthy and make changes in their lives, and that alone is a great reason to be proud of. First time I ran 10 kms was also a huge milestone for me since I had never run before in my life and always though it was impossible for me, now I’m addicted.
I’m also proud of setting a good example for my daughter and for putting my whole family in shape :)
I’m still working and losing the remaining weight, but the future looks awesome.

5k in 33m I think it’s awesome!
I started running back in September, and my 5K time is 27:51. (I’m 39 years old)
Working on improving, but I agree with what Lephturn said.
My goal is always to improve on the previous time I had, slow and steady and to run a half marathon sometime in the near future.
Regarding the weather, for me at least it doesn’t make a difference. I have run in 35 degrees and now it’s around zero here. For me, it takes a little longer to warm up, but that’s about it.
Good luck with your running!

Well, I read that a lot too, but I decided to experiment and monitor my level of energy and the fact is that I’m putting almost a 1000 calorie deficit for over 7 months now and I lost over 60 pounds so far and I never felt so good before. I have lots of energy and exercise at least 5 times a week, so I guess my metabolism adapted pretty well at 1500 calories a day.
I’m 5ft 9 and weight currently 87 kgs (192 lbs) and going down.

My point is that nothing is written in stone. Try it for yourself and see the results.

Good luck.

I erradicated soda completely from my diet since joining dailyburn back in August 2009.
I used to drink Coke like crazy. Lost 77 Lbs (35kg) so far.
As for changes I noticed..wow…just too many to mention, but soda was just one of many changes.
