the basic gist of a good diet is: eat enough calories for your goals so, slight deficit for weight loss, slight increase for muscle gain;
eat enough protein for muscle maintenance
eat enough carbs for energy
eat enough fats for a bunch of benefits fats get you
stay away from sugar

imo, lift around 3-4 days a week, cardio 2-3 days a week, take a day a week to rest. once your routine is regular and you see results, you’ll realize breaks in your routine can’t undo a consistent program. don’t be paranoid.
