I have very strong “Sucrose” withdraw after starting to eat clean again. My withdraws only occur for a few days but I sure feel the cravings! Fruit helps but I think my body knows the difference :) Topic: Diet and Nutrition / How do you set a goal for "Sugar"? |

Anyone else feel guilty when they eat something like a PopTart our a doughnut and you have to put it on your daily nutrition log? I mean I give myself my rewards, piece of pie here and a brownie there but honestly the poptart was just because I was lazy that morning…. ARGGGGGGG I guess that is just additional reinforcement for yourself to burn it off the next day :) - Chad |

@cccc LOL Thank you everyone for your feedback. I guess what frustrates me is my laziness some days. I will go a week that I eat very clean but then I just get lazy gobble down something that fried or covered in chocolate icing! I guess they way I can look at it is that I was good 6 out of 7 days of the week :) Chad |

Amy, I have never had Parsnip and I am not a big fan of hollandaise sauce but mmmmmmmmmm that looks good! I assume you ran the parsnip though a food processor or something then added egg before you fried? Topic: Diet and Nutrition / Food Porn |

I will agree with dianebl that it is possible to get all the vitamins & minerals from natural sources but I would say that the vast majority of the population doesn’t. I will also agree that most of the multi-vitamin is flushed away the next day. But in my case, I want to make SURE I am getting enough even if I have a poor day eating. For this reason I take a multi-vitamin 5 days a week (weekdays) and then on the weekends I allow my body to detoxify of any I have overdosed on over the week. (I heard that overdoing some vitamins is just as bad as getting to few in some cases). I am NOT an expert, I am just relaying what works for me. I take MegaMan Multi-Vitamins from GNC (but only take 1/2 the recommended dose per day) Good Luck IceQueen -Chad |

David Looks great but I would have to leave out the mushrooms :) I also had a omelet today but I just threw in what leftovers I had. About the fat, these days as long as I am happy with the calories, I really do not worry about how much fat it has (As long as it is not saturated). Cheese is a great source of your daily dairy! Just remember if you are getting canned beans, be sure to get the LOW SODIUM ones or wash your beans before using them. No need for this extra sodium in your diet when you can just wash it away! Topic: Diet and Nutrition / The poor man's diet |

Anyone have any good cabbage recipes? I am not an expert cook but I am looking to start branching out. I am kind of getting tired of Chicken, veggies and brown rice! I have my other staples like sweet potatoes, beets etc… I just thought cabbage we cheap and maybe someone would have some good ideas for me? Chad Topic: Diet and Nutrition / Food Porn |

Well you have to understand the difference between making a lifestyle change and just going on a diet. I am not going to go as far as saying that diets are BAD but if you just do that “Diet for a few weeks” yes I bet you will gain it all back and more, because you slowed your metabolism! But if you make a lifestyle change and eat more appropriate to your calories requirements and fitness level then you will be better for it! For me, it was really just eating the right foods vs eating too much food! Just my 2 cents, Topic: Diet and Nutrition / Dieting is a predictor of weight GAIN? |

8lb in 2 weeks is great progress!!! Only thing I would say is that most protein shakes have a lot of extra sugar in them. I opt out of drinking shakes and just eat real lean proteins. My Nutrition log is open if you want to get some ideas. I say just keep on track and the pounds will melt off week after week! Just a reminder to everyone out there that Swimsuit Season is nearly upon us! It is time to PUSH HARD to tone your muscles or to drop that last pound of belly fat! I don’t know about you guys but this time of year is when I start push my training in high gear. I have been putting in less than 100% workouts and it is time to bump it up a level. Anyone have big summer plans? I was thinking about a trip but can not decide where yet. Hope everyone has a GREAT Spring! ChadMan |

Amell, what ever you do, don’t go to junk food… That will NOT help your weight lifting! I have really never had a problem bulking but I have never gain as extreme as you want to gain. Have you tried adding a few protein shakes in each day? Add honey and anything else high in K energy. Like I said though, just do not go down the junk food path thinking that they will help since they are high in calories! The way way out weighs the good! Good LUCK!
