Jack3d was a decent alternative when it first came out but many people become “used” to the feeling after a short while and need 3 scoops to get anything out of it. It has Geranium oil (1,3) which is actually a banned substance in many countries and is also a banned ingredient for many sports. I would suggest Gaspari Superpump MAX. It’s brand new and has very good energy but not the cracked out feeling and it gives huge pumps unlike Jack3d that actually gives some people issues with sexual activity as it restricts blood vessels. |

D-ASPARTIC ACID really doesn’t have tons of studies behind it yet to determine if it does indeed increase test but numerous companies are banking on it as they have added them to supplement ingredients. You can also purchase it in bulk powder and add it to your own supplements, The good news its a amino acid normally produced in the body so even if it doesn’t work you won’t have to fear negative side effects. If I was to only get one supplement I would choose creatine. Protein you can get from whole foods but creatine has the most positive research behind it, its effective and very inexpensive. |

It doesn’t matter when creatine is taken as long as you have reached complete saturation. The most common belief is dosing with between 3-5g per day and it can be taken at any time. Topic: Supplements / Can anyone give more information about creatine? |

Whey Protein will not make you fat nor will cheeseburgers….. IF you are in a caloric deficit. People gain fat for one and only reason which is taking in more calories than you are using. Whey protein is a great substitute to hit your protein needs for you macros. It isn’t a magic powder that will give you any better results than any other form of protein its just quick and easy. Creatine is a great product for increased endurance and strength in the gym. Taking 3-5g per day should be plenty and as other mentioned make sure you are drinking a good amount of water. Based on the picture you provided I would put you at 18-22%. Most people way underestimate their BF%. I have had numerous clients and athletes tested including myself and can make a pretty good guess from pictures. At 10% you should have visible abs, be pretty vascular and overall very lean. Remember that at 170lbs 10% BF means you only have 17lbs of fat on your body. Considering that 3% of that is fatty tissue protecting you organs it doesn’t leave much. Show ready bodybuilders are in the 4-5% range and at your weight that would only mean a difference of 8lbs. Go get a hydostatic test if you really need to know but in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t really matter unless you are competing as long as you like the way you look. FYI- arnthorla not to be picking on you but you aren’t 12% in your profile. Probably closer to 16-19% Topic: Diet and Nutrition / Confused about body fat calculations |

There is no need for taking casein protein. Your body is way to adaptive to need to worry about the digestion rate of one protein over the other. The only benefit to casein is that it coagulates in the stomach which can make you have a feeling of being full longer which can be helpful to people cutting calories. |

Your broscience is strong…. You have no idea what you are talking about and I never said to take straight whey at any time. I said taking Casein is a waste of time if doing it by itself or to preserve muscle mass. A person can take 25g of protein from chicken, steak, whey or casein and neither one will make a difference over the other in terms of body composition and muscle mass. |
