I’d appreciate any advice you have. I am bulking right now trying to build muscle let me know what im doing right and/or what im doing wrong.
This is my first 5 day split and so far only problem i have had is my Arms being sore on Shoulder Days so i moved Legs between Arms & Shoulder days.
I would like to know how long people usually bulk / Cut for and How much cardio is too much cardio while bulking ?
Monday – Arms/Abs/Cardio
Alternate between Wide Grip & Close Grip Barbell Curls 3×8
Skull Crushers 3×8
Alternate between Standing Dumbell Curls & Concentration Curls 3×8
Hammer Curl 3×8
Reverse Grip Curls 3×8
2-3 mile run
Tuesday – Legs
Squats 3×8
Dumbell Squats 3×8
Lunges 3×8
Calf Raises 3×10
Wednesday – Shoulders/Abs/Cardio
Upright Rows 3×8
Dumbell Shoulder Press 3×8
Barbell Shoulder Press 3×8
Front Raises 3×8
Arnold Press 3×8
2-3 mile run
Thursday – Rest
Friday – Chest/Abs/Cardio
Incline Dumbell Press 3×8
Decline Dumbell Press 3×8
Flat Bench Press 3×8
Incline Dumbell Flies 3×8
Push-ups till failure
2-3 mile run
Saturday – Back
Dumbell Rows 3×10
Dumbell Shrugs 3×8
Deadlifts 3×8 – 4×6
Yates Row 3×8
Sunday – Rest/Cardio
2-3 mile run
Days i do Abs i Alternate workouts with
Weighted Sit-Ups 3×15
Decline Sit-Ups 3×20
Ab Twists 3×15
Planks till failure
On cardio days I run 2-3 miles to help burn bodyfat gained from bulking. I also switch out workouts every few weeks so im not always doing same thing.
I take Whey Protein which includes BCAA’s, L-Glutamine, Creatine, and Crystalline Taurine. I take 1/2 a scoop 45 minutes Before a Workout and 1 1/2 scoops directly After a Workout.
Pre-Workout meals for breakfast 1-2 hours before workout for examples Multi-Grain Cereal or Oatmeal And/or Banana and 2 Egg Whites.
Post-Workout meals 45 min – 2 hours after workout for examples Lunch would be Turkey Sandwich on wheat with Fruit or for dinner Salmon, Rice, Pasta, and Carrots.
Please let me know what you think and what i should improve in the 5 day split. Thank You
