Whey protein will not make you gain fat, unless you take it in very large amounts and do not workout.

Whey protein is best before and after workouts. I take 24 pre-workout, 48 post workout. Those amounts just correspond to the scoop size.

Whey protein is different than creatine. Creatine pulls water and nutrients into your muscles, so drink a lot of water. The net result of creatine (at least for me) is more torque / strength and better endurance.

Whey protein builds muscle after you just ripped it up.

I have tried a bunch of supplements, to the shagrin of my liver. Creatine and Whey are staples, although I will take a break from creatine every now and then. Most other things have not produced substantial results (for me).

You have to try creatine, results will vary from person to person. I use it for strength, it definitely helps me lift heavier weights and get past sticking points when going for strength (4-6 reps). Skeptics might say it’s all in the mind, whatever as long as you get results. Just this year I couldn’t get 225 more than twice. I started creatine and I blew past 225, and was bench pressing 255 for 6 reps in 4 weeks.

I haven’t seen as much benefit for endurance / cardio, but the strength aspect is significant for me.

I use Cell-Mass by BSN. I am sensitive to things that give me too much of a rush (like caffeine), so I have to be very very careful. I had some bad experiences with Kre-alkyln (too much of a rush ) and Cell-Tech (got extreme hunger afterwards). Cell-Mass does the job without side-effects.

I take Cell-Mass after workouts.

Cell-Mass by BSN. I am sensitive to different ingredients in all of these sports supplements so I am careful when I take them. I tried a bunch with mixed results, but Cell-Mass always worked for me with no negative side effects, plus it is readily available at your local GNC or Vitamin Shoppe.

I do reverse curls along with some kind of wrist curl, like barbell behind the back wrist curls or the classic barbell on the bench wrist curl.

I started doing the classic barbell on the bench wrist curl a few weeks ago and noticed immediate results, kinda crazy, but it had been a while since I did them. Now, I do them every week.

I have recently started to abandon all artificial sweeteners from my diet (right now, no diet soda). After I finish my tub of Optimum Nutrition, I would like to switch to a whey protein that has no artificial sweeteners in it. Any recommendations? Taste is always a factor, would be nice if I could just mix with it water and have it taste decent.

Thanks

I tried Dymatize Expand, and liked it for a little while, but after the first few weeks, I didn’t feel like it did anything.

I have the same problem, I drink a ton of water during work (about 100oz in 8 hours) which helps a lot. I have a 32 oz. container that I use every day, this way that water is always at hand.

I take a glass with benefiber in it before leaving for work, I only use 1 teaspoon, 2 makes me too bloated. It keeps me feeling full for sometime until lunch.

When I get hungry for a snack in the afternoon, I usually get a cup of non-sweetened hot tea.

What do you mix it with? I tried an all whey protein not that long ago and it isn’t the greatest tasting thing.

Thanks
