I’m brand new to Gyminee… so forgive me if this has been discussed already – just chiming in with my two cents. Overall I like the look and feel – there are a few items that I came across that I’d like to see changed though: I don’t care much for the nutritional goals section. I would prefer the option of setting my own goals OR letting the application determine them for me. Currently I have to accept what the application computes and then go back and modify things individually. A component to set mini-goal or milestone within the scope of the larger goal would be useful. Perhaps this is available already I just haven’t found it? The food database needs work. Looks nice, but results are too many and too varied. I think another field would be useful for things like “flavour” or “non-fat” or “2%” so you can do a search for MILK – 2% – BRAND. W like to see Omega-3 and 6 added to nutritional breakdowns for tracking. Would also like to add foods by meal (i.e. breakfast, etc.). The Meal Planner seems quite useless – would be better if I could build menus from My Favorites to create more accurate meal planning and shopping lists. lizanneh – THANK YOU! I do have the Pro membership but complete didn’t see that – amazing things happen when you click on a drop down box! Okay, so that takes one item off my list – but I don’ think the other ones are available – if they are someone please guide me. Cheers. Is there a group level RSS feed – I only see post level? Group level would be better to track when new posts are added. Thx. Topic: Support/Help / Group Feeds |

While you’re at it a feed for new challenges and new groups as they are created would also be useful. Not to follow the posts within each, just a feed to tell me a new challenge has been created or new group added. What can I say… I live in my RSS Newreader. Topic: Support/Help / Group Feeds |

I’ll second that. I find myself resorting to reentering items so they are more exact or so I can accurately enter quantity. For example, I have absolutely no idea what “1 bowl” of soup is. What is a bowl in oz. or ml. ? So, even when, for argument sake the nutritional information is correct, it’s difficult to correlate the quantity it is based on with what you’ve consumed and what to record. I had used a desktop program in the past that allowed you to enter items using the unit of measure identified on the nutritional labeling – but then could auto convert this to other units of measure when it was used in a daily log. So if the nutritional label was in ml and you are referring to it in ounces, you could specify this and it would figure out equivalents. This is not the end of the world to do by hand – but really “1 bowl” has no point of reference to me what so ever so some standardization on units would be helpful as well. |

What’s up with this – it keeps reverting to something other than what I entered. I entered 1200-1400 (as recommended by RD) and it keeps reverting to 1400-1500? Topic: Support/Help / Calorie Goal |

It would be useful to have a Quick Link added to the previous day’s food items so you don’t have to open them up individually to add the same item as an item for today. Some items are consumed daily – it would save a step. |

I mentioned this in one of my first posts – and now having revisited it – I am even more confused. Is there some way I can add my own food items to the meal planner? As it stands right now the choices are so limited they are virtually meaningless. I’ve also discovered that the Food Groups sidebar ties directly to the meal planner – and not what I actually eat during the day – so it too is, for the most part rendered useless. According to Food Groups I had .01 cups of vegetables yesterday and 1 oz. of meat. Yeah… no. As this is a “PRO” feature – I would expect that it would be somewhat more useful for a paid feature. It really strikes as something still in beta testing. At the very least, I would like to be able to assign food groups to the foods I add to the database so on the daily log they at least show up in the count. This seems pretty basic in my books. absmith: A lot of the foods in the database are not editable so cannot be modified to be corrected. Furthermore, I tend to not allow my own new entries to be modified either – simply because since I’ve taken the time to copy down the nutritional label of the box I don’t want someone to come along and muck up one of my food entries that, as far as I’m concerned, is accurate. Your food database is not the worst I’ve seen – but there is definitely a lot of room for improvement in usability and accuracy. |

It would be useful to have a search to view all posts by me – or all posts by another screen name. Currently a search by screen name returns only results where the screen name is used within the Body field. Topic: Feature Discussion / Forum Search (more) |

Thanks mh1 – those damn dialog boxes get me every time. I just don’t look far enough down the list. Will need to keep this in mind. I’ll have another go at the menu planner – thanks for the help. Cheers. Topic: Support/Help / Meal Planner - am I missing something? |

With remaining in caloric budget would be helpful – provides ‘at a glance’ determination if you have room for that extra snack or not. |
