The difference is the Glycemic Load of those foods…or rather, an Orange is better for you b/c it has lots of fiber, whereas a glass of tropicana is going to be mostly sugars…like your granola, etc. Maybe try a cereal that has more fiber / protein, like Kashi. Good luck! Topic: Diet and Nutrition / Sugar, sugar! |

@Msbanta, the PF will usually hurt at the start of activity after rest…think getting out of bed or start of your class (first 2 mins)…once you warm up it kind of goes away…that’s part of what makes it so insidious. I would definitely rest and do the stretches / exercises listed above for starters…good luck! Topic: Fitness and Exercise / Plantar fasciitis |

Given your return to training, i suggest you plan on being active every day but running maybe 3x tops. Biggest changes will be eating habits (better food choices, no snacking on kid’s junk food – for the older ones!, and no more late night food,etc.). Good luck on your challenge! If you are happy with your progress, don’t sweat it…roll with it as your body might just be settling into your new phase. If you want to continue to challenge yourself, maybe look into how you can adjust your dietary needs to more closely map to your new level of activity and workout schedule! I am just about to end a two week “break” from triathlon training…and what was hard to do early on (rest) has become really easy….sleeping in, low motivation, etc. To be clear I am an Ironman triathlete; just did #17 in 9:27 to win my Age Group and qualify for Kona (5th trip)…been at the game for a decade…not sure if I am just burned out or it’s something more insidious like an Iron deficiency….curious to get your input…thanks!
