Maybe I’m missing it, but I’d like there to be a check all button. I’m using the meal planner to log all my food, and it’s a bit tiresome to then have to go to the nutrition page and check every single box for what I ate.

Also, while I’m at it, I’d like an option to stop being nagged about some of the profile set-up. For example, I just don’t desire any gymbuddies right now, and it would be nice to not be pushed into it every time I’m on various pages on this site. A hide button, at the minimum, would be nice.

I’ll put aside warming up and stretching as something I assume you’re doing. (Note that you should not stretch to warm up; your warmup should include joint rotations and walking.)

I’d say that the best way to ease into higher-impact running would likely be something like the following:

Week 1: 5-10 minutes running + 25-20 min elliptical
Week 2: 10-15 minutes running + 20-15 min elliiptical
Week 3: 15-20 minutes running + 15-10 min elliptical

Well, you get the idea…

Well, I’m not sure how healthy it would be if I succeed, but it’ll sure be a challenging goal… Then again, I have spent many years building up these ample fat reserves, so I might as well burn them off now! :) Bring it on, lightweights!

Two words: slow down. You can try just slowing down your whole run, or you can take walking breaks before the cramps come on and slowy wean yourself off those breaks.
.
I’m a big fan of the c25k (couch to 5k) plan (googleable). I used it to successfully train for my first 5k. (This from a person who always claimed she just could never run more than 1/4 mile without stopping.) I’ve stopped running since, and am now starting back at the beginning of the c25k plan.

No, Gyminee doesn’t do that, and it is sure to be a source of frustration for me soon.

Someone else brought it up a while ago, and the response was less than heartening. I’m not sure why there seems to be a reluctance for this, as it should be a pretty simple calculation and is not an unreasonable expectation.

I hope the staff/developers reconsider and at least make it an option to have daily caloric allowances take workout calories into consideration.

It doesn’t make a difference for me now, but when I’m back to biking and burning an extra 800+ calories in a ride, I’m not sure what I’ll do. I sure as heck will not let my body suffer under a 1300 calorie deficit (the 800 burned plus the 500 planned deficit for weight loss).

How far can I currently run without slowing? Sixty seconds is it, Bubba. Even then, you can hear me wheeze a mile away. Surely anyone can beat me, right? Only time will tell.

Not only do you have to do the math, instanttaylor, but you are scolded for doing so, as you then don’t meet a calorie goal pe Gyminee’s standards.

I really like Gyminee for the challenges and because it’s the only site I’ve seen that has food group tracking (as opposed to just calories and macros). There are other features as well, so I really don’t want to have to look for another site and program.

I’ve thought about using another site+iphone program for food and exercise tracking, and staying here for the challenges, but that just seems inane. If I give in and do that, I certainly won’t continue pro.

True, it does show the average for the week (or whatever), but what I’m talking about (and believe the others are talking about) is an automatic adjustment of the daily caloric goal based on the day’s activities.

I looked all over the place for an accurate scale. After looking at reviews, I bit the bullet and bought the Tanita HD-351. It’s the only one that consistently gets 4.5 to 5 star reviews for accuracy. My experiences can also attest to outstanding accuracy. It’s been worth every penny.

.

Downsides: It’s not small at all. It’s not inexpensive. It feels a little weird to have a scale that boasts a completely unnecessary capacity of 440 pounds. :)

Actually, I expect that the cost is tied to the higher-quality materials and design (due to the higher capacity). I’ve seen cheap scales with similar memory functions.
.
What I did to find this scale was search for bath scales at amazon and then sort by average customer review. Be careful to consider how many reviews there are, though. As far as I’m concerned, a five-star rating from a single reviewer is worth less than a four-point-five-star average rating from 30 reviewers.
.
I can’t speak to any other scale that I’ve been happy with, so I’ll let others pipe in.

Thanks, that’s great to hear. One doesn’t need to run marathons to justify this; a decent bike ride or day hike can burn enough calories to warrant timely replenishment of calories. I’m very happy to hear it’s planned.

If everything that’s planned (per these forums) comes through, it could even justify charging more for pro. Wait, wait… forget I said that. But it will justify me going around and spreading the “good word” about gyminee to everyone who will stop long enough to listen. That’s even better, right? ;)

When I search my favorites, I can click hyperlinked letters of the alphabet to go straight to the food I’m looking for.

But, when I’m looking at favorites in the meal planner, I have to select “pages”. The problem with that is that not only do I struggle to remember if “oroweat bread”, for example, is on page five or page six, but that the favorites move around when new faves are added.

If I could navigate by alphabet there, I could always find oroweat bread under O. I don’t know how difficult this would be, but I suspect that it would be very helpful.
...
Having said all that, I realized that the ability to “search favorites” in the meal planner might be even better.

Thanks for considering.

Just for the sake of argument: How do you know that an intake of 1600-1800 calories daily keeps you at your current weight? Have you actually kept track and weighed and measured all your food?
.
Studies show that people are notoriously awful at estimating the number of calories they have consumed (or burned).
