I just joined this site a week ago, but i’ve been working out for about a month now!
A little background…

I just had a baby 5 months ago and i’m breastfeeding. I weight 149 now and i’m 5"2. I weighted 125 before i had the baby.

I eat 3 healthy meals a day and one snack. I"ve cut out all sugar, sweets, junk, etc. I work out 4-5 days a week.

When i first joined this i went down to 147 and now i’m at 149 again. It seems like if i don’t workout everyday, i gain a couple pounds back.

What advice do you have for losing the weight! i really want to start dropping the pounds, thanks:)

If you are breastfeeding a 5 month old, please don’t make weight loss your #1 goal. If you are not adequately feeding yourself, then you won’t be feeding your baby properly either.

If you want tips on what you should be eating though, fill in your nutrition log. Right now it is empty, so we can’t give you feedback.

i have been on a journey to lose weight since my son, who is now 18 months…went up too 257, and now finally down to 165. I am no expert, but from looking at your log in my opinion you are eating alot of carbs. I would cut back carbs a bit and eat more protein.

Losing weight is hard but a lot of determination can take you a long way! Burn more than what you eat through a regular exercise routine, drink plenty of water, and watch what you eat.

Do more exercise and also start running to lose weight and also control your diet and minimize your sleep time and try to drink maximum juices but not the packed one.

Well, if like me you had been trying desperately (to no avail) to shift the weight (albeit unsuccessfully up until now) – there is some hope out there for you.

You may have hear people raving on about Acai berries? Well my friend’s sister was earwigging (as she normally does) in our conversation and mentioned that there are appetite suppressant patches. I promised myself I’d never go down that route – but after giving it a go it really helped me supress the junk food cravings.

I’ve lost over a stone now..these are the ones I used:

I would suggest that You need to do some sort of exercises like Swimming and Yoga that are really effective for weigh loss . Moreover, Fruits and vegetables might also be beneficial for losing weight rapidly . Thanks

Diet: Eat foods with high fiber, consume 1050 – 1600 calories per day, no more no less.

Exercise: Do an AEROBIC exercise (not strength training) at least an hour a day, preferably in the morning, since that’s when your body can burn the most calories.

If you follow this two simple tips, I don’t see how you won’t lose weight. For more information, visit: Weight Loss Tips for Women

I Burned 50K Calories!

@Paradoxlc, i’m don’t want to sound like a know it all, but that’s utter nonesense to say to avoid weight lifting. Actually, weight training is MORE effective at weight loss. Muscle burns calories, so for every lb of muscle gained you burn an extra 50 calories a day, sitting on your behind. You can do circuit training to make it more aerobic. They actually say that doing too much aerobic exercise makes you fat.

I Burned 50K Calories!

When i first started daily burn and tracking calories it took over a month for my body to adjust and to start losing weight. Be patient with the process. Sometimes I would go a week or two after i first began to lose weight, to lose more. My advice is to be patient it takes time to lose weight and just be consistent with diet and exercise

@Sara: Do you know how hard it is to gain a pound of muscle, especially for women? Your main focus should definitely be cardio if you’re trying to lose weight. You can supplement it with strength training a few times a week but your main focus should definitely be cardio.
Doing too much aerobic exercise makes you fat? lololololol I think you have been trolled.

Hey, weight usually should not be great factor because sometimes you wil put on weight but its not fat. I mean like water weight etc. Also, if you have been working (weight training) you also might have put on muscle. Muscle is heavier than fat.

Yes, women don’t gain muscle as easily as men because of lower
testosterone levels. On the other hand, if testosterone levels are
increased, for example by tongkat ali, the effects of testosterone are
more pronounced in women than men. In the gym and in bed.

@asiaherbs12: You’d have to take steroids to get testosterone levels high enough to have any serious effect. Just lifting weights won’t do it.

Pardoxic- lots of broscience at work there. Cardio on an empty stomach/first thing in the morning has been clinically debunked as a myth insofar as fat loss goes. You actually have a higher thermogenic effect if you have eaten something an hour or so BEFORE cardio. You aren’t going to completely deplete your glycogen stores overnight to the point that fasted cardio would make a difference anyway. As far as weight training, it should definitely be part of your routine at least a couple times per week if you are trying to reduce fat. Lean muscle burns more calories than fat, as it has a higher thermogenic effect as well. -EK

i suggest jogging daily, or take up swimming! swimming works every part of your body, arms, legs, abs. plus, when you sweat your not as nasty as you would appear on land =D especially i the summer swimming would be best .

Lower your carbs if you haven’t already.
Conventional wisdom has everyone thinking that just eating more veggies will help you lose weight, while you’re stuffing your face full of whole wheat this and grains full of carbs that are going to turn in to sugar, then in to fat in your body. Hell, even eating too much fruit isn’t a good thing.
Start tracking your carbs. Depending on your fitness level, I’d go for less than 100, preferably less than 80 or around 50g imo. It just depends on your body.

Before, I used to weigh 180 lbs and I was a 5’7’’ male. I wanted to desperately lose weight, but it was a very hard task in need. The first two years of college, I drank so much that I developed a beer belly. However, a few months ago, I had the flu and barely ate for a week. I lost TEN lbs. After that, it felt so good to have that extra weight off me that I wanted more off. I began exercising every day and dieting. I do aerobic exercise daily for 45 minutes (usually jogging and cycling). After, I did intense circuit training for 30 minutes. Then at night, I did an hour of yoga with my girlfriend (and boy do you sweat!). Me and my gf began watching everything we ate. Low calorie everything! Salads, Water, tofu, tomato soup, oatmeal, etc. But don’t just fully deprive yourself of everything. Indulge once in awhile otherwise you will start binge eating junk food like crazy. I still love drinking on weekends with my buds, but I switched to low cal Voli Vodka which only has 48 cals! Check it out here. http://bit.ly/rVuwQF you can get it at the nearest Sam’s club. I am about 160 lbs now, but would like to be 150 and then gain more muscle mass. Seriously, all about diet and exercise. Can’t have one without the other

A full body exercise, that gets you sweating, and your heart pumping. You dont need a home gym or anything my friend. All you need is to do some cardio exercises because it’s best for weight loss and for fitness . Best of luck

Exercise and diet! That’s the number 1 way to lose weight. Watch what you eat every single day and find exercises or exercise programs you enjoy. Good advice on the different low-calorie foods out there @Jongin, especially that voli vodka, I will check that out, always looking for a way to save calories on the weekend.
