I thought it would be fun to share our favorite green foods. We all know that we need to eat our greens everyday – what are your go to green foods? I like:

Wow – Savoy cabbage with nutmeg sounds so good – maybe I’ll put that on my menu for tonight. |

I like most green stuff… rape blossoms (soon the season) kiwi (I don’t like them to be yellow) I like the edamame tofu too. |

What a great topic (I’m Irish, so this isn’t entirely objective ;-) I love broccoli, green beans, green asparagus, leeks, fava beans, brussels sprouts, spinach, cabbage, zucchini, kiwis……and I’m pretty sure I’m leaving out loads of things I normally eat. Now I’m hungry! |

I’ve been on a kale kick, lately- that’s probably mostly because of the recent greens recipes in the New York Times. I add it to bulgur just as it’s done cooking, and just let it wilt. |

It might sound strange, but as JEB1974 mentioned with the savoy cabbage, a pinch of nutmeg is great with most dark greens including my favorite, spinach. I also like it added to Irish Colcannon – kale mashed with potato, a bit of milk, butter (Smart Balance, actually), and leek or onion. I may be mostly Irish, but I’ve never met a cabbage I liked. There are several things on the lists I’ve never tried, I’ll have to find some of them. (Love the mint choc. chip ice cream entry!!) |

Because of this conversation, I went to the grocery store to get supplies for my fav. spinach salad, lol! Here it is: http://twitgoo.com/kuj3n |

I love spinach most of all but also green peppers, romaine lettuce, green apples, edamame and broccoli. Also – spinach, spinach, spinach and.. spinach. :) |

I’m not a huge green food person, but really like brocollini and brocolli. Edamame – always have this when I go out for Japanese food. Rocket, baby spinach leaves and lettuce are staples in my salad… but can’t exactly say they are up there with my favourite foods! |
