Anybody else combing P90X and Insanity?
|Jun 5, 2010 8:30am||
I’ve been doing P90X for a while. My little brother, who’s also been doing P90X, mentioned something about Insanity a few weeks ago. It peaked my interest, so I looked into it. After about an hour, I bid on a brand new copy of Insanity on eBay. I won the auction and just got the package in the mail today.
I was thinking of combining the 2 systems, P90X (Classic) and Insanity, when I start my new track on Monday. Is anyone else doing this? Or, thinking about it? If so, how’s it working?
I can’t wait to get back on track after a long, much needed break!

I have combined P90X and Insanity and experienced even greater results than with just one of the programs alone. I’ve done both one at a time with success but the weight came off faster using both. :) Also, make sure that all of your dvds work…especially your bonus discs for insanity as well as the 2nd portion of the discs that have 2 workouts on them (i.e Pure Cardio & Cardio Abs, etc.). Personally, someone bought Insanity for me at the beginning of the year and several of my discs didn’t work. This also happened to a coworker of mine who bought the set off of ebay. And from what I heard it happens a lot. Just letting you know what to expect. After that, I had to start getting everything from Beachbody…and I’m not saying that because I am a coach, but because it’s true and can be verified if needed. :) But you’ll love combining the workouts. I have created a workout calendar to combine the two workout programs if you’re interested I can send it to you. It might help you stay on track and sequencing them. Just let me know.
Hope this helps.

Amisha, I’d love to get your workout calendar. I was simply planning on combining the workouts as is listed on the P90X Doubles track, and using the Insanity calendar for the cardio portion.
Thanks for the heads up, I’ll check my DVDs today. As I stated before, I did get the Insanity set from eBay but the package was new and hadn’t been opened yet (still had the factory plastic seal). I did the same with P90X from eBay.

I completed a round of P90X and am just starting month 2 of Insanity after a well deserved recovery week. I love both programs and want to do a hybrid after I finish with Insanity.
Amisha, could I also get a copy of the hybrid workout calender.

OK I’ll have to get it when i go back to work on monday and I’ll post it. That’s where I keep it. About the DVDs…mine and my coworkers also arrived brand new, factory sealed and in box with guides, calendar and all…so i thought they were official. I called beachbody for tech support and they had no record of the order. So I called my dads wife to find out where she got them from and she told me off the internet somewhere. Then the seller was no longer in business. it was crazy. So long story short…people are duplicating them and charging you a lesser price…but make sure you go through all of the discs all the way through…some will act warped and some won’t work at all. Well that’s what happened to me, a friend, and several others, I’ve read about on another community website. It’s a shame…so i guess you get what ya pay for sometime. Hope they work for you. I’ll try to get you the schedule I made up as soon as I can.

Hello, here is the schedule I made up….I forgot ….I also intermingled Turbo Jam into it…so if you don’t already have TJ you can omit and do more Insanity for Cardio or you can just switch it up however you like but this will at least be a starting point for you. I have it in a word document but these forum posts don’t allow tables or attachments. So I copied and pasted it and I hope that it is understandable…I found it amongst my sent emails. If you’d prefer me to email you, just send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll shoot it over to you.

I really want to do P90x. I’m just not in good enough shape yet. I actually just ordered Turbo Jam, which I know, as a guy is pretty embarrassing, haha. But my wife wants to do workouts with me and I figure this would be a good thing to do to get in some sort of shape first before I do the P90x program.

I’d just like to point out from the PoV of a person who has heard of P90x due to commercials, but has never heard of the Insanity program…the thread title was quite amusing.

I actually heard about Insanity through a friend. After he and I talked about it, I caught one of the infomercials. If you consider P90x tough, then Insanity will kill you. I actually held off doing Insanity until I’ve gotten through some of P90x because I don’t want to die. Are you taking any colloids or multi-vitamins? Purest colloids (www.purestcolloids.com) offers dietary supplements. Insanity will drain you really bad if you are resupplying your body.
