Any one actually follows these workouts?

I want to try them so bad!! It’s on my list for after I finish p90x. I know someone who has gotten amazing results doing them! They are very hard and intense and definitely no gimmick—if you stick with them!

DEFINITELY NOT A GIMMICK. Trust me. I started it a couple weeks ago and lasted 2 days. I was so injured my wife banned me from it until I lose 25 lbs, haha. I started on P90X instead since it is “easier”. If you are ready, give it a go. Totally worth the money, although your body will take a beating.

ready for it probably not !!!

tho i have watched the dvd’s and am at the moment incorperateing some of the bits in to my routine to start targeting certan groups i feel are lacking at the moment

i was more interested as it seems to incorperate some yoga moves which i could use to become a little more flexable

but as i dont finish my current training program for another 6 weeks was left curious about them lol

I did Insanity for 2 weeks and it is very intense. I have previously done P90x and am in decent shape. With Insanity there is basically a 10 minute warm up and 5 minute stretch before the ‘workout’ even starts. By the end of the stretch I am dripping and feel like I could stop there. Now I’m mixing Insanity with P90x because I felt like I was losing upper body strength. I would recommend it for a short (40 minutes) very intense Cardio workout.

I just finished week 1 of Insanity and it is intense. I mean laying in the floor sweating, panting intense. But it feels awesome. It is extreme cardio and I love it. If this one does not get rid of the love handles, nothing will. I just finished P90X, so was already down 36 pounds. Now just 60 days and hopefully I will be at goal weight of 205. One great point about Insanity, anybody can do it. You just go at your own speed. You need topush as hard as you can, but even the people on the video can’t keep up. I have talked with a couple of people that were seriously overweight and doing it successfully. You can keep up with my progress on my website. But since I am a Beachbody coach and do sell it (full disclosure here) I’m not supposed to give you a link. Look me up if you are interested in following along.

I know someone who ordered the Insanity DVDs and had to stop after a day or two. It’s not a program I’d recommend for those starting from zero or low level conditioning. Much better to start off with something you can stick to (while still really challenging yourself) then progressing. This will avoid injury and increase adherence.

I Lost 20 Lbs! I Lost 10 Lbs! I Lost 5 Lbs!

I’m just about to start week 3 of Insanity and I think it’s great.

I have 50 pounds to lose so am definitely not in shape but I’ve been getting through them. I can really see the difference just in how much more I’m able to keep up with them after each passing week.

So I’m going to have to agree with Fletchs above, anyone can do it. (Just need to push yourself as hard as you can while following form. If you’re going so fast that you can’t keep form, slow down as you will hurt yourself)

So far, other than nearly passing out at the end of each session and vomiting a few times, the worst I’ve had is sore legs as the muscles rebuild.

@curtis160

Congrats on the 3rd week of intensity. My point here is that if it’s working for you, then stick to it for sure.

But for those that are wondering if it’s necessary to workout/exercise like that in order to lose weight (lose FAT) the answer is no. Since fat loss is primarily about creating that caloric deficit (whether through diet alone, or through diet and exercise <—- which I recommend) the exercise can be a lot less “extreme” and still yield very dramatic results.

I was able to lose 70 lbs over a period of 7 months with a simple diet plan and an exercise routine that involved just 3 workout sessions per week (45 min each) on non-consecutive days. (My before/after photos are in my profile).

I want to provide others with another point of reference that shows that you CAN lose fat with an exercise regimen that’s starts off close to their current fitness level, but that can progress with them over time.

@OP – the product is not a gimmick IMO, as currently I believe the Beach Body folks put out good/solid products. It’s more about matching the program to suit your fitness level to decrease chance of injury and increase long-term adherence to an exercise regimen. Lots of folks still think “old school” with regards to “no pain no gain”. It’s absolutely not necessary to lose fat quickly and change bodycomposition.

Oh for sure, I completely agree that a proper diet and even just a bit of exercise is enough to lose weight.

I was more just saying that if someone wanted to do Insanity but because they’re out of shape, didn’t think they’d be able to, they shouldn’t let that stop them.
