I Lost 10 Lbs! I Lost 5 Lbs!

I am very unmotivated to exercise right now and outside it is well over 100* with a heat index of around 112*. It’s sweltering and humid outside and stays that way for several hours after dusk.

What are some ways to get around this?

I guess if you had a membership at a nice gym with controlled temperatures, you wouldn’t be asking this question. Do you have any public swimming pools? Swimming can be great exercise. Other than that, it’s a matter of beating the heat by getting out and doing it before it gets hot. Here in dry Reno, shady paths can provide relief for walking/running/biking, but I’m guessing that the humidity out there keeps that trick from working.

Can I sympathize with you by saying yuck to your weather? ;)

I live in Florida, so I can sympathize!

I get my workouts in while it’s still dark, at 5 in the morning. While that probably won’t work for everyone, it works for me and it’s usually cooler then than just after sunset. Swimming is always a great option, if you can get access to a pool. I also do bodyweight exercises and yoga in my home, which keeps me in the air conditioning, but I still get in a workout.
