I Burned 5,000 Calories! I Lost 10 Lbs! I Lost 5 Lbs! I Lost 5 Lbs!

So DB says I need to eat about 1700 cals a day to lose weight.

Today I went to a kickboxing class and burned about 400-500 cals.

How do I factor this in? Can I then eat 2100 calories instead of 1700?

Thanks for any help!

When DB calculates your nutritional goals it takes into account activity level. That is why it gives you a range of calories to consume. On days you workout eat towards the top of the range. When you don’t workout eat at the bottom of the range. You should not go over or under the range too often if you want to meet your goals.

@sab1976, to lose weight you need to create a safe calorie deficit. That is accomplished 2 ways:

1) By consuming a number of calories below your maintenance level based on your BMR and daily activity (sans exercise) and,

2) By burning additional calories thru exercise.

If DailyBurn is suggesting 1700 calories a day to lose weight, you do not want to add additional calories to offset what you have burned thru exercise as it is the two components (calorie deficit and calories burned) that will enable you to reach your weight loss goal.
