I Did 1,000 Pushups! I Lost 10 Lbs! I Lost 5 Lbs! I Did 1,000 Pushups! I Ran 100 Miles! I Lost 5 Lbs! I Lost 10 Lbs! I Lost 5 Lbs!

I had developed Plantar Fasciitis in the summer and it really sidelined my running routine (and impacted my weight loss journey) … very painful.

For those who don’t know what this is – Plantar fasciitis is inflammation of the thick tissue on the bottom of the foot. This tissue is called the plantar fascia. It connects the heel bone to the toes and creates the arch of the foot. Plantar fasciitis occurs when the thick band of tissue on the bottom of the foot is overstretched or overused. Treatment recommendations are all over the map – but most commonly focus on rest and good stretching techniques.

Well, now I am about the start back running again – I am always interested in anyone who may have had experience and any advice with regards to Plantar Fasciitis. Particularly how you effectively dealt with it and how did you change your exercise routine to prevent it from happening again?

ALSO – looking for runners who are willing to be motivators, as running is/was the most effective way for me to start dropping the weight. Thanks

Conqueror Your kind of a big deal! Top Lifter Vanquisher I Lost 5 Lbs!

I have had Plantar Fasciitis before. It does not feel well at all. I continued playing basketball and suffered through the pain so it took a long while to get better.

There are lots of ways to treat and prevent this. If you are a runner check your shoes. Try a shoe that has more cushion in the heel, round in the ball, and good flexibility.
Keep your hamstrings and calves loose. That might be an over looked issue that is important.
ICE is very good for prevention and treatment. I advise buying a cheap styrofoam cooler, filling it with ice and water, and soaking your feet for 15-20 minutes after your run.

I Burned 50K Calories! I Lost 5% I Lost 50 LBS! I Lost 35 Lbs! I Biked 100 Miles! I Burned 25K Calories! I Lost 20 Lbs! I Lost 5 Lbs! I Lost 10 Lbs! I Burned 5,000 Calories!

i’ve had this issue in the past, this is what I have done to prevent it

1) find the right shoe
2) cross train – mix in something like biking or swimming to give your feet a rest
3) trail running is less impact than concrete
4) if you work yourself into running everyday, replace the “right shoe” often

Plantar Fasciitis is very painful which occurs at heel it is very common with middle age people it is caused by straining the ligaments which supports your arch, if you are overweight, If you were a shoes that does not fit well, if your feet roll inward too much. The people who suffer from Plantar Fasciitis have pain while getting up from bed or sitting long time at the same place. You have to seriously take doctor’s prescription if you suffering from Plantar Fasciitis.
