Don’t work the same groups two days in a row, no need. If you worked legs and abs last night, go for back and biceps tonight, then take a rest day and do chest/shoulders/triceps. Doing two days on, one day off, rotating through those three groups works well for a lot of people when starting out. It’ll keep you from getting burned out. It’ll also give your muscles time to repair. |

^^ Also, eating your required protein cals is imperative in muscle repair & growth Get used to DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) it is a sign of growth that you will come to love :) |

Any time you go to the gym and you are still sore, gently stretch. If you are still really sore after stretching, get some easy cardio in and go home. If the stretching makes it better, do your workout. Casey Anderson (First person to bench 500lbs, pre-steroid era) used this technique with every workout. |

i also go to the gym and my fitness instructor taught me that it is important to do basic stretching before starting any body workout. It helps prepare your body and muscle. |

On those days your sore I would think of just doing cardio to let your muscles recover. You could run at the gym. Its also nice to have a treadmill at home so you dont have to go to the gym on cardio days. I use the Sole F85 www.soletreadmills.com |
