Guys, if you are anything like me you start and stop start and stop and the cycle continues. For the past 2 months I have been at it straight. Doing some serious hill work (not much fun) every Tues & Thursday religiously.
The trick is to not do this thing alone. Find a partner who is just as desperate or more so than you are to get results. They WILL call you out when you are having your bad days and push you in ways that you would not push yourself. We average 1300 cals every session (2 hours) and we have been at it for 8 weeks straight.
I am not a fan of running so I do the power walk thing, stopping every now and then to do squats. I have gotten healthier and my clothes fit better. I am not concentrating on losing weight. I know that will naturally come with time. I am more toned than I have been in months and seriously encouraged to continue. I urge you to keep the faith and invest in yourself.
Don’t try to self motivate all the time. You wont always be up to it. Get yourself a partner or better yet a group and get the exercise that you need. GOOD LUCK & GOD BLESS!!!

I bet it’s no coincidence I stumbled on your post today. I have learned what you know. For the first time in my life I have hired a personal trainer. (my friends and boyfriend have different work schedules than I do). I have wanted to do this my entire life! (I’m 43 and had finally achieved a healthy weight last year on diet alone – not on a diet, I just switched to whole, plant based foods primarily and dropped dairy, sugar and gluten-just because) Losing 40 lbs that way was A SINCH!! (I kid you not)
But, to get really healthy, I believe a person needs to keep their body (and mind) active. I was what I consider the height of being LAZY. Or, I WAS. I now have a monster of a personal trainer (kind as could be when not kicking my but) that motivates me (aka makes me) workout in a way I could never have pushed myself… I would have given up very early on in the workouts. Without a partner in this, I would be stuck at halfway or almost healthy.
I am stoked that I did this for myself. I look forward to a heightened energy level from now on!!
Continued good luck and success to you too!! God bless YOU. :)
