Has anyone tried the TRX suspension training system? If so what are your thoughts? Is it worth the money for what you get or is it a little over-priced? I think it’s versatility is what I am most interested in but not willing to shell out the cash without some reassurance on it’s value… Thanks |

I went and bought straps and made my own. I love it! I don’t think I would ever spend the money on the system though. |

I used it in the gym last year and went ahead and bought it. For under $180, it’s well worth the money. You can do so many different exercises with it. |

Always thought about trying them with my P90X work outs. |

I’m a huge TRX fan. I travel a lot and always take them with me. However my trainer uses them in my standard strength and conditioning workouts. It’s a great tool to add into a superset as the adjustment is instantaneous. I also do at least one full TRX workout a week – i sweat bullets :) |

I tried the TRX yesterday at the the gym. I like it a lot and going to do more. Not sure if I will by one or not If I can use it at the gym than I will not by one. But that is a very popular piece of equipment. |

I love my TRX! It’s a high-quality product, and if I’m going to trust it to support part of all of my body weight, it needs to feel like it’s going to do the job, you know? If it felt cheesy I don’t know that I’d trust it or use it. Note: I’m a trainer and I work out of my house. I have tons of equipment that I never use for myself or for my clients. The TRX gets used ALL THE TIME! |

Search for DIY suspension trainer. I was able to make my system (and have enough left overs to make 2 others) for under $20. (In fact only just finished installing it and testing it out, hopefully results will follow). Well worth it and super easy…looking forward to using it now |

I think the real TRX is worth it if you do a lot of home workouts, travel and in particular like doing high intensity intervals. The real TRX has an interesting way of adjusting the length that is super quick (feels really well made when doing this fast). I do tabata style training or have found HIIT circuits on youtube etc.. They often require really fast switching of the length. I guess you could do it similar with a homemade version. I am not against homemade at all, but I prioritized convenience and the fact I travel a lot for work, the cost was worth it to me. Now if only it was easy to enter TRX workouts into Daily Burn… As of now, I guess I have to enter them all manually… |

I followed this guy’s instructions: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ES5GN9k7BZw It works great, took 15 min. to put together, and cost about $20. I got all the parts at Home Depot. |

I bought the original TRX and have done a trainer course on it. I have suffered a slipped disc in the past and am too scared to lift heavy weights (I slipped my disc dead lifting 100kg). So all I do is TRX now and dance. I love how portable and light it is and how it can be adjusted for progression. Both my fiancé and I use it when we train. I wish there was a TRX training plan on DB. |
