Big things are happening behind the scenes here at DailyBurn – we are working on improving the exercise database! Not only are we adding exercises, we are changing the way that you can search and submit your progress for your favorite exercises.

What exercises would you like to see added to the exercise database?

Trikking, Hula hooping, Jumping Jacks another thing that would be nice is to take a previous workout and make it a custom work out. For example like a shoulder day that I recorded.

obliques machine, might have missed it in list but i cant see it :( its one of my weaker machines and being able to track it properly would help.

Thigh Abductor – you only have pushing out not pushing in

Aerobics workout

Circus/Gymnastics skills like Static Trapeze which require holding your body weight by one leg, one arm, etc – lots of strength

Stretching – partner stretching which pushes you further

plank holds: are measured by reps (should be time), also there is only the front hold, side and back holds please!

bird dog variations: pulling elbow to knee under body, kick backs, etc.

I think it’s great you’re going to update the database, it needs it badly. However, there’s always going to be a few exercises that just don’t make the list. Is there any chance we’ll be able to add our own exercises, similar to the way we do for different foods, in the future? Even if its local only to our account, it would be great to not have to recreate a custom exercise, when creating a new workout routine.

You can add your own exercises to the DB – just local (I think) as I have added a few to my routine.

I would love to be able to track/include various house chores – such as mowing the lawn (push mower), racking leaves..etc

And, I haven’t checked yet, are the swimming type exercises listed?

It’s not technically new exercises, but I’d love a way to more easily specify intervals in a workout (preferably with warm-up & cool-down periods)

Lawn Mowing with pushmower.

I also like the break down of warm up, work out and cool down on running, treadmill, crosstrainer, etc. And interval training.

Another exercise that I don’t know the technical name for is boxing or punching with weights

For me, I don’t want to have to sit and try to remember everything we did in a group fitness class. I’d like other options besides step aerobics. Some of the popular ones that I’ve seen offered at most gyms are Zumba, Turbokick, Bootcamp, Bosu Sculpt, Bodypump, Kettlebells, Cardio Pilates, Power Yoga, etc.

I do group classes a lot and find it really hard to record them here.

I have been doing a workout video that combines strength moves with weights, cardio and abs. I have managed to get most of the excersizes in there but not all.

Jumping Jacks
Butt Kicks
side lunges with dumbbells
