For those of you who use Wii Fit as a workout, I found this link (directly from Nintendo and Wii) that allows you to calculate your calories burned based on the Wii Fit activities you do and for how long. One issue is that… the website is in Japanese, and I can’t find an English version. However, it’s pretty intuitive (even for those of us who can’t speak Japanese!). Start by entering your weight (in kg, not lbs). Then, pick your activity, and use the up/down arrows to show how many times you completed that activity. For example, for the Super Hula Hoop, I did the 3 minute duration session 2 times, which, according to Nintendo, burned 37.35 calories for me. Cool! The point is… if you work out on Wii Fit for a productive period of time (today I did it for 1 hr 5 mins), you can actually burn a significant amount of calories. Here’s the link… click the green button to start, and enjoy! |

i would think that nintendo is going to be generous with their calorie output. In saying that, it is somewhat of a good resource to track in some way. |
