You guys need to come up with the Android app for Daily Burn. I’m a loyal user to this site but im contemplating swtiching over to some site that has an app on my Android phone. iPhones are not the only smart phones out there.. so please get your Android App up and running. I need to keep track of my food while I am out.

Thanks guys!

I Did 1,000 Pushups! I Lost 10 Lbs!

There’s already a sticky named “Android update” at the top of this forum.

And they are working hard to get it done, I believe it’s in the beta testing. I myself have an android based phone but I’m not going to ‘switch sites’ just because there isn’t an app for it..
Keep track of your food by writing it down in a little notepad or on your phone as a memo.. It is a smartphone after all. Then record it to dailyburn from your computer when you get home.

And keep paying all that money while NOT getting all the benefits.

As a short term solution there is the burnbot app even though based on the DB screenshots it’s not even close. At least you can log your food.

Thats all well and good for those of you that have free accounts. BUT, there are some of us out here (suckers) that have PAID ACCOUNTS. Why should we have to deal with band aid approaches when an Android App has been PROMISED FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have I made my point yet?

No, not really. You seem like a child crying because they weren’t given a chocolate bar.
People take time to make things to keep it bug free, it’s in the BETA stages, just give it some time. .

No child here, just want what I am paying for. I have been “waiting” for this ever elusive Droid App for 2 years now. In that time The House has gone GOP, Egypt had a revolution, and DB has created a “push up app” for the IPhone. I have done research on the development of Droid apps, talking with developers that are familiar with this type of app. The majority said this shouldn’t take as long as it is taking. Now, do I believe it is in Beta Stage, WHO THE HECK KNOWS! I’ve been told it is, but I’ve also been told it is a week away. And that was said about a year ago.

So Yanz, how long do I give it? Should I stay quiet for another week? Maybe a month? The subscription is for a year, if it was monthly I would have been gone long ago. You can keep sitting there eating YOUR chocolate bar (and logging it into your IPhone) while I question the process. I’m sure there are others just as frustrated as me, but just don’t have as big a mouth as I.

I Lost 5 Lbs!

“Working hard” is a relative phrase. An Android app has been in the talks for 2 years and still there’s nothing to show for it.

I’m a free user, but I invest my time and energy in using the site and since there’s no Android app I find myself using the site less and less. I use other apps to log food, weight, exercise, etc.

And besides, I still think Android will get the shaft even after the release. I doubt it’d be on par with the iphone/ipod touch/ipad versions and I doubt it would get updated as much as its iOS counterparts. Considering DB’s snub to the Android community, well, they might just leave the app to die a slow and painful death following future releases of Android.

Most (modern) devices will soon be upgraded to Gingerbread. Honeycomb is on the horizon. I doubt DB will keep stride for stride with Android.

@darkstar5, I don’t eat chocolate and I don’t have an iPhone.. I have an Android based phone myself. Kthx.

I understand that you’re pissed about it, I want an Android app too, but I really don’t think they’re going to care if you complain about it is all, it just makes you seem like raging child. (No offence intended) but yeah, it’s like screaming at Telstra for stealing some of your credit, they laugh at you and don’t care. Because they get a hell of a lot of customers.

I really want this app too, but I’m guessing and I agree with IMPAQ.. It could be released, and then they’ll leave it to die :/

Oh, ok Yanz I guess I’ll just be quiet. I will take what they give us and call it a blessing.
NOT……
I am commenting not to the DB staff or developers, but to the other Android users so they see the pitfalls of joining such a service. I know if I was reading my posts now, and see the frustration with the situation, I never would have bothered. Just trying to save some Droid users some frustration and money.

Yeah but others do pay for premium services for other reasons, not just for an app.
I mean, I bought PRO, and then thought.. Hmm I wonder if they have an Android app?

I found that they are still working on it, but at least its in the beta now?

I’m not trying to piss you off darkstar5, I’m just saying. Raging won’t do anything, A well structured, well written post would have more of an effect.
