I Lost 5 Lbs!

I have been logging my calories for about two weeks on this site and I love it. The only other good calorie tracking site I have seen is Livestrong.com. I am looking at doing this for a long time so I am curious if anyone has used both sites and can give me the pros and cons before I become a PRO member of Dailyburn or Livestrong.

I Biked 100 Miles! I Burned 5,000 Calories!

I used Livestrong on and off for about six months before coming over to Daily Burn. I was only a free member at Livestrong but have since become a paid up PRO member of Daily Burn.

Livestrong does seem to have a better food database, although the Daily Burn one is getting better all the time. I have used the iPhone apps from both as well as the website and Daily Burn wins out for speed and usability. It is so much easier to track your caloriesand log your workouts with Daily Burn and I do think the extra features you get with the PRO sub are worth it.

I would suggest getting a free account to both and use both for a week to see which you prefer as there isn’t actually a huge difference in features. But for my money Daily Burn wins on the user friendliness front.

Hope that helps!

Short answer: Currently dailyburn.com is easier & faster to use, has a better iPhone app. Livestrong Myplate has a stronger food database. I believe that will be evening out shortly & dailyburn.com will be the superior choice.

Longer answer: I’ve was using the original thedailyplate.com for almost two years before Livestrong took it over. While certain things were improved with Livestrong, bug fixes got longer and fitness tracking got harder. Hence, when I looked for a better alternative, I was delighted with dailyburn.com. They’re very similar but I find I can still add my own food (which was trivial with thedailyplate & Livestrong rightly tighted up on – just a little over tightened IMO).

Cheers ….

I Burned 5,000 Calories!

I’ve been using livestrong for about a month, and I have been running into a few problems regarding meal editing, and, while trolling the forums, I ran into a pointer suggesting I try the Daily Burn. I’ve only been using the dailyburn for a few days – but Certain components that I really like on livestrong, such as the ability to enter food portions in ounces, instead of servings, are missing over here.

Also – I don’t think there is a version of “Create Meal” which lets you add a number of food items so they can be added all at once, instead of one at a time (I.E. “Chicken Lunch”= Chicken, Brocolli, Buns, Soup)

Both sites have an overly “chatty” web interface, even with paid memberships. Neither of them are really that great.
