Blood Pressure hasn’t been discussed much but wondering what some people’s on here is? Mine’s more on the lower end of the scale… today i had mine checked: Is there much cause for concern if it gets too low i wonder? General guide on BP…optimal reading is supposedly 120/80 |

I think they actually say that under 120/80 is optimal. American doctors generally don’t worry about low blood pressure, claiming that low BP is “only” a symptom or side-effect of something else and low always equals good, but European doctors will sometimes be a bit more concerned. My father passes out occasionally (once every five years or so) and blames it on extremely low blood pressure. But that’s a self-diagnosis based on something a doctor told him decades ago. |

wow congrats! thats an incredible change! well done! :] what scares me is kids growing up nowadays! |

I’m not training right now and consider myself out of shape. But I don’t have any numbers from when I was training. Now I’m around 130-105/80-55. |

Thanks. (I’m just glad I was able to get it under control before my Dr. found out!) ;) |

There was a recent study (or survey maybe) in the UK that found a high percentage of kids could not identify common vegetables – like CARROTS! I don’t remember where I saw this but found it appauling. Needless to say, hats off to my mother and grandmother. Our diets were far from perfect but I grew up eating every vegetable available in our region and knew where they come from (i.e. and by that I don’t mean “the grocery store”). In any case, kudos on the blood pressure control. |

I was wandering around the pharmacy last week while waiting for a prescription to be filled when I decided to check my blood pressure on one of those free testing machines you see all over. The reading I got was 119/71, so I guess just came in at the “normal” range. I don’t remember what my exact reading was the last time my blood pressure was checked but it was high enough for me to think twice about eating that extra slice of pizza that night (I probably ate it anyway though). |

Last month mine (whilst sitting) was read at 116/68. This is a vast improvement to the last one that I had checked which was around 130/88. |

I have low blood pressure and was kinda worried about it but some people have told me that having a lower blood pressure is a good thing. Is this true? |

togle, read my comment about my father, above. It depends on how low. (Is it below 90/60?) So long as it doesn’t affect you (passing out, feeling dizzy), it’s probably nothing to be worried about. But if you’re taking medication, you want to be aware that low blood pressure might be a side-effect of whatever you’re taking. |

90/60 usually, but will dip down to 82/55. |

@norbork Wow! That is low. Have you checked your thyroid function? Your TSH levels should be under 3.3 if you use the US standards and above 0.3 if my memory serves. |

Mine’s always been naturally high, even when eating healthy. :-( Historically it hovers around 135-145 or so, except in cases of eating a jalapeno. :-) |

as a physcian: low BP is generally not anything to worry about depending on the situation. If your asymptomatic and othewise fairly healthy dont’ fret and consider yourself lucky. however, if you get dizzy or lightheaded its something you should talk to your doctor about. |

Mine is usually 90/60 which some people might consider low. I just make sure I’m properly hydrated so I don’t get dizzy spells. |

They measure mine when I visit the blood bank. Usually between 110/70 and 120/70. Interestingly my haemoglobin has gone up from 12.5 to 15 since I increased my workouts 5 months ago. |

My blood pressure is generally on the higher end. I thought of taking natural supplements to reduce my blood pressure. Someone suggested RippleCreek. Has anyone tried those supplements? Are they really effective? |

Mine has been high since being pregnant with my now almost four year old daughter. Currently taking medication for it, and it’s still a little higher than my doctor would like it. Hoping to lose a little weight and get fitter and see it go down enough to not require medication. |

My blood pressure does seem to vary quite a lot, depending on how stressed I am. However, my last reading (taken last week and while calm) was 109/80. |

I had mine checked a few weeks ago and it was 104/58. I do suffer from lightheadedness when standing from a seated position if it happens too abruptly but my doctor has said it is nothing to worry about (haven’t blacked out just yet!). |

Mine’s usually in the 90s/60s range. When pregnant the highest I got was around 110/70. I get dizzy, but the docs figured out it was related to my SVT, which incidentally has started to act up again now that I’m working out (weird huh) Have always had lower blood sugars, too — had “fasting” work (had eaten by mistake) and it was 72. Mom always assumed because I was this fat my #s would be awful, so I was happy to see the shock on her face when she saw my tests :-) |

I just got mine checked today – 100/66 – lowest ever, feeling good about that! |

Just got mine done yesterday when I gave blood. 100/60 |

My blood pressure was just checked Thursday and it was 105/60 and she said it was good! |
