I did a work out and three days laer still really sore.
Isit because I just used muscles really hard in a different way so my muscle is tearing and taking a while to come back together.
Or is it because I actually worked out too hard.
My exercises were I did 3 sets of 20 squas with bar then 3 sets of 30 lunges and then I did 3 sets of 20 dead lifts. i was switiching between all three.
Then I also did 3 sets of 20 calf raies and then 3 sets of 12 leg extensions and le curls all intertwined with eacher. Then I did cardio.

Id say you got a really good workout. I don’t know if there is any universal agreement on what causes delayed onset muscle soreness, but I think everyone agrees that it is a sign that yo uare causing your muscles to really work hard.

I would only say you worked out too hard if yo uactually tear something and limp around for a few days.

Soreness is a sign of inflammation in the muscles, but not necessarily damage. It’s usually a result of stress on the muscles. But, if you continue to workout in a smart manner and give yourself about 48 hours before you lift again, eat well, and get enough sleep, it will lessen with each session. And yes you can still workout when you’re sore. You don’t have to wait until the pain is gone.

Had you ever worked how those muscle groups before? If not, then that could be a reason of why you are so sore. The first time I ran a mile i was sore for about 5 days.

I can tell you from personal experience that when I have worked out for a long period of time and I still feel sore after a couple of days, I found that stretching my muscle actually helps me feel less sore.

Wow that was quite the workout. If you did all the lifts correctly then you have nothing to worry about I imagine. When I am sore it just means my body isn’t used to the workout I just did now if I have a sharp pain then I’ll see a doctor. Stretching and rest should help your muscles feel better.

When I work out for long periods of time and with great intensity I usually become very sore! At first it hurts bad then after a stretch I feel a little less sore.
