I want to be able to play with my kids without being the guy on the sidelines who just watches. I want to be able to hoist them on my shoulders without pain the next day, to run across the park with them without huffing and puffing, to lead them into a fit life by example. And I want all the soccer moms to wish their husbands were as fit as me. :P |

Funny that… My motivation was the kids as well. (Coupled with being a wee bit overweight, totally unfit, cholesterol high, generally feeling not good, etc., etc., it was time to change) That was 3 years ago… Best thing I’ve ever done – apart from marrying and having children;o) |

Im 22 and I have spare time on my hand so I though I would give a bit of body building a go. When I get to the size I want to be I might start playing a new sport and not just soccer, Thinking about Rugby League if anyone knows it |

I’ve always tried to live a healthful and athletic life, but I was run over by a car a few years ago while on my bike and stopped at a light. I was under the car, which stopped on my knee. Broken arm, torn MCL ligament, scrapes, cuts and bruises. I had the weight of the car on my leg and I could have been hurt much worse or killed. You can’t really plan for what life is going to deal you, but you can make sure that you’re physically and mentally in the best shape you can be when those things arrive. Two years later, I was playing soccer with guys 10-15 years younger than me. Our team won our division and some money for charity. I really believe that being in shape and eating healthy can turn some of life’s mountains into molehills. |

My daughters, for one. I want to be able to play with them constantly, plus I want to be a motivation for them as well. I want to show them that there’s more than just tv, video games and the indoors. Secondly, I feel best about myself when I’m in shape. I’ve sign-waved my way along the physical fitness regime for a long time, and I know that I feel happiest with myself when I can look in the mirror and not sigh with sadness. With all the crud that beats down on us throughout the day (not saying there’s crud everyday), the last thing I need to do is look in the mirror at the end of the day and try to wish muscle onto my bones. And, you know, it doesn’t hurt to know that a few heads turned to check out my finely sculpted backside, ha ha… |

My motivation is how sick I’ve been getting recently coupled with never wanting to be overweight like my father and (both) grandfathers… Besides, I really want to be able to keep up with my daughter, in a year or two she’s going to be a handful :) |

Lots of reasons. 1. I feel great when I am eating clean and exercising. 2. My father died in his 40’s. I’m 37. 3. My brother had a stroke, heart attack, and died in his 50’s. 4. The last two and I want to be around for a while to play with my kids. |

I had 3 friends in the past 6 months under 45 have heart attacks. I work in computers and work from home, leading to a very sedentary, lazy lifestyle. I coasted through my 20s, and now in my 30s. Time to focus on myself. A few years ago I went from the ripped jeans tshirt lifestyle to a whole shift into a suit and tie daily thing. I’ll say again what I said on my very first day leaving the house to my new career: Look good, feel good. |

My father never made it to his 45th birthday – I’m less than five years away from living longer than he did – or not. |

I had a turn around of events in 2000, and since then have been obsessively fit to hospital (car drivers huh….!!!) to couch potato. I`ve struggled with depression for a while, and the one thing that helped the most to get me on an even keel, was setting huge seemingly impossible goals and working towards them one step at a time, i`m getting there slowly, watch this space! Kids have helped as well. :D) |

My husband and I started talking about having our first child a few months ago, and I wanted to be sure that I was in optimal health before we concieved. I’ve gained about 30 pounds since high school, and some of that was good for me, as I was much skinnier than I needed to be during that time. I know it’s doubtful that I’ll get all the way down to my goal weight before conceiving, but I’d like to be at a weight that I feel more comfortable with. |

In the past, it would be weight but now doing it to keep my ADD under control. I can focus, sleep, learn better and my moods are very good these days. Also see it as a way of being nice to myself. |

I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I have no energy and really want to be able to spend time with my kids. Plus I am tired of being depressed each time I have to go shopping etc.. I want to be healthy, be happy, and have energy!! |

My spouse and kids are my primary motivators to stay healthy. I want to stay healthy so that I can see my kids grow, enjoy moments like their graduation, marriage, etc. together. |

I’ve always worked out since a kid and something I’ve enjoyed. Growing up, I played racquetball and even in leagues. It is my way to socialize too. Anyways, I’ve had some health issues to come up so I am trying to be better at being healthy tho I always thought I was. |
