I am weighing. And it’s dismal. But I have been eating WAY too much. I am not giving up, though. Each morning I wake up and think, “I can do this.” Some days I do pretty well. Other days horribly. But. No matter what. I am not giving up. I think I will be WAY more motivated on January 1st, when all the holidays are over and the typical “dieting” season begins. Haha.
My personal goal is to take off 50 pounds from January-May, so that I can go into summer feeling good.
My December goal is to maintain or lose a little. Just basically not go “crazy”. I plan to hit it hard and for real in January.
I’m not sure these Daily Burn Challenges are really working anymore. Seems like we just can’t recapture the “magic” of that VERY first one, when everyone was truly engaged. It’s tough.

And p.s. I didn’t write the “Problems Are a Part of Life” post. I took it from the Jesus Calling app. It was an awesome devotion and it totally describes how I handle life – trying to fix all my problems myself and brushing Jesus to the side. When I should be doing the opposite. Focusing on Jesus, and letting HIM brush my problems to the side. I loved it. But didn’t want any of you to think I wrote it! Daily Burn won’t let me put links on here, or else I would have linked you to the actual article! :)

So is there any way to log exercise for week of Thanksgiving if I didn’t at time? I don’t see a place where can put date and didn’t do when was gone—although I think I posted my message the week after saying I had walked to get kids from school. I want to be legal! Anyway I will prob have to loose a couple just to maintain, but plan to do that and may a couple more so can be down a tad and hit hard in January when my life hopefully turns back to normal. I am like Jolene, but also feel it is a great feat honestly just to maintain during the holidays—isn’t the average person like a seven pound gain? Anyway we have to give ourselves credit where can. I wish somehow we could get the magic of the first challenge, but if it were so magic we wouldn’t be doing this one! Also Jolene, I think you are down less now then last December, if every year is like that it is called success. I think we just need to keep plugging along even if it isn’t happening as fast as like—without this challenge I wouldn’t be exercising as much so even if the weight loss isn’t there the exercise is and that will help the weight come off better when I get my head totally into it! Let’s keep at it-!

You are NOT getting my money! Haha! I’ve done my 3x per week. Sometimes just barely. And I had to count things like house cleaning and painting, but you said we could count it as long as Daily Burn had it listed. Haha!
I know I’ve gained weight and done wrong things. I am starting over today with renewed focus and determination.
Kerri – You can enter workouts in the past, by clicking on “Advanced Options”. It’s really small in purple or blue letters at the bottom in the square, when you click on an exercise and go to log it in. But really, we trust you. If you’ve done 3 per week, we believe you. :)

Kerri – You have a great attitude, by the way. I loved your last post. I am a “black or white”, “all or nothing” kind of person. And sometimes I forget, that, “Hey, 8 pounds in a year is pretty good.” If next year I’m down another 8, then that IS a success. Sometimes it is about baby steps and doing what you can do. And I agree, these challenges are keeping me more on track than I would be without them, so even if I’m not making raging, speedy progress, it’s better than nothing. And sometimes….“Good enough, is Good. Enough.” :) Great attitude, girl! Thanks!

I am ready to give up – BUT I WON’T – I was doing so good- but I now I am forcing myself to do something at least three times a week even if it is not at the same amount I was when I started. I weight myself once a week on Wednesdays and post an update at that time. I’m so mad at myself and you know the bottom line isI just like to eat. I watch my portions, I don’t gorge myself with food, but have no desire to eat just beans, veggies, egg whites, etc. I like to eat so I will continue to place my roll that I stuff under my belt and try to hide it. One thing I will for sure take from this and this website is that I can do it and even a little helps. I won’t lose my $20 so I will keep plugging away. :-)!

Great job for not giving up, Rachel! :) You’re totally right…you can do a little, and even a little helps! A little is better than nothing, I say! :)
I had one good eating day yesterday….so here’s to two. Goal is 10 pounds in December, and to get my money back! (Won’t win this competition, but I’ll be a winner if I get myself back on track and take off the 10 pounds!)
Ran/walked at HMS today with Teri and Lauren. Legs are feeling it after boot camp! Teri’s phone said we did almost 5 miles. Haha. That can’t be right, but it’s a fun feeling to think about. (I know it couldn’t have been that far.)
Day 1 of my period today. Gotta love that. Good times. Good times.
This time of year is getting busy. We have something almost every day/night! Yikes! Gotta hang in there….can’t wait for Christmas break and some time off!

Ok so was just trying to see what all counted in Daily burn for exercise since painting does, but I didn’t find shopping! Ha Ha Was just curious since it involves walking! I was looking for moving boxes—I am moving office and am sore from it so gave it a try. Couldn’t find that but did find stair climbing which I am doing ALOT of! Moving from one basement to another carrying heavy boxes is a workout if you ask me! I should try to see if cleaning house works—not trying to cheat just ways to enter in all my physical work am doing right now ;)

House cleaning DOES work, Kerry! One day I hauled balls and cleaned actively for about 3 hours straight! I was sweating, even! It counts! :) Moving boxes and going up and down stairs is probably a lot like boot camp! Just put something down! We know you’re doing the best you can with your current situation and no one is taking your money! ;)
And may I say Holy shitballs, Shelly! That is a lot of weight! YOU RULE! I’m not worthy! Good job! :)

And……with that…..I’m now on the winning side. Finally below my starting weight….and it only took me two days of focused eating…..AND I’m on my period to boot! So HA! Take THAT!
I am impressed with how many people we have actively posting and actively losing. That is amazing! I am getting excited now as we near the finish!
I have no illusions I will “win” with the highest weight loss percent, but I will be a winner if I end up lower at all. 4 pounds from here takes me to below where I ended the last challenge in October….so anything beyond that is all “fresh” loss. :)
Two good eating days in a row. Feeling like I can maybe, just maybe, do this thing.
P.S. For those of you not on Facebook, I am going to repost my awesome recipe I created yesterday (by accident). I was just fishing around in my cupboards for what to make for supper and came up with the following, unplanned dinner.
Put in crockpot:
Put crockpot on high all day. Although I think it would work on low, too.
Came home from work and “shredded” the chicken with a big spoon (basically just broke it all apart into small pieces).
Served in bowls just as is, because we were starved. But I think it would be good over pasta or brown rice. Or throw the brown rice in the crockpot in the morning, along with enough extra water. Or throw the pasta into the crockpot with extra water in the last hour of cooking.
Next time I will add a can of crushed or diced tomatoes. We sprinkled mozzarella cheese on top of our bowls, but next time I think I will try grated parmesan cheese instead.
The tastes reminded me of the spinach artichoke dip you get at a restaurant. (Sort of.) This was much healthier, though.
It was a total accident recipe, but I WILL be buying those items on purpose in the future, and making it again. It was really, really good! (I thought.) Katherine and Neil liked it, too.
You will laugh about the next part. I served it with: fresh pineapple chunks and 3 oreos for dessert! ;)

Today is my 3rd “good eating” day in a row! Yay, me! I did not exercise today, though. It’s nice to take Wednesday as a “rest day” before Boot camp on Thursdays!

I was NOT comfortable being uncomfortable this morning at bootcamp. I HATED HATED HATED the partner work. I just want to do my own workout and be left alone. I thought the moves were too advanced for beginners….I would rather do an easier move with success, than a harder move with a fail. I was not happy – on the verge of tears all morning….it sucked eggs. I am all in for a hard workout, but I. do. not. like. partner. work. Do not like people staring, watching me, cheering for me….waiting for me…..Just no likey. I will go to the bathroom and never come back if they do that again. :( YUCK!
P.S. Lauren, you were a GREAT partner! :) That style of workout is just not for me!

Okay, I want to quit. I’m tired. I’m tired of eating right. I’m tired of exercising. I’m tired of bootcamp. I’m tired of it all. Just want to quit.
Sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if I pursued my relationship with Jesus Christ as much as I pursue being healthy/skinny. What would my marriage be like, if I spent as much time on it, as I do on Daily Burn/exercising/worry about/obsessing about my weight/calories/eating?
Just tired. Of it all. Goal for December is to just maintain hopefully and not give you all my money! Haha.
And I might quit Boot camp. I no likey.
