God Bless You Jolene!!! I am so thankful you started this challenge because I desperately need it! I have stopped stepping on the scale with fear that I am most likely at my heaviest also. I was doing good, had lost 6 lbs, was eating healthy and exercising…on the right track. Then suddenly I just stopped like I always do! Back to the fast food, no time to exercise (or I come up with any excuse to not do it). Then of course I resort back to the feelings of shame and wondering why I let myself go the way I do, but yet I still choose the unhealthy food options and opt for time on the couch rather than exercise. And then fear that I will die at a young age because of my poor health! Why can I not stick with it??? I need all the help I can get!!!!!

I had just downloaded the daily burn app and was going to start the 1st! Thanks for organizing! I like the longer format and like you I am nearly at my all time weight! It says will take me 18 weeks to get to my “goal” weight then a lifetime of keeping it there! That’s the ticket!

There is someone in our challenge from Vallencia, Spain. I forgot to hit “private”, so I am hoping this person will eventually drop out. I clicked on his/her profile, and it looks like they joined a ton of challenges. So hopefully it won’t be an issue. If it is, then we’ll delete this challenge and I’ll set up another one! It’s meant to be private for only friends from Nebraska, USA! Sorry!

Anyway! I have lost complete and total control. I did so good in the fall of 2011….lost 45 pounds and was over half way to getting myself back. Then got a running injury and just got. off. track. No more! I need to EASE into exercise. For the month of April my goal is strictly to WALK at least 6 days per week. That’s it. WALK! And I’m going to count calories again. And really try to pray and read the bible with more of an effort – hopefully God will give me what I need to stick with this!

Kerri – I am like you. Sick with fear about my health and dying young. I have so many little “issues” that are brought on by the weight: varicose veins, achy knees, heartburn, etc. It is only a matter of time before these little annoying issues turn into major ones – like stroke, heart disease or diabetes!

It’s seriously and for real not even about being skinny anymore. It’s about saving my life. And for me, it’s always been emotional eating. I stuff myself and binge-eat when I’m not even hungry. So like an addiction in that manner. I just have to overcome. God help me to overcome.

Starting on Monday with excitement, hope, peace and friendship! :) Love you girls so much! Thanks for joining in! I like that there’s a long “end date” and no money on the line – just good friends keepin’ it real and keeping each other accountable and motivated! I plan on taking you all on the biggest shopping spree ever (because I’ll need all new clothes) this December!

We are headed to Florida (or somewhere tropical) for Christmas, and I, for one, would love to have a new wardrobe about 10 sizes and 85 pounds smaller!

LOVE>FEAR! Let’s do this!

You KNOW I’m totally in Jolene!
I do feel a little bad about Ms. Spain tho… Just sayin… You know me, kind of like Lauren, never want to hurt anyone’s feelings or leave anyone out. Maybe she needs our support? Unless it’s a he, that might get kind of embarrassing!
Excited and dreading tomorrow. This is it ladies! On your mark, get set, GO!

I feel bad about the Spain person, too. But this is the internet and I want us to be able to say what we want in a somewhat private setting – and not have to worry about some stranger! I looked at her profile and she had literally joined a TON of challenges – like 20+, so I think she was honestly just looking for some motivation. But, oh well! She was nice about it.

Today is my Day One. I had my first heart attack by stepping on the scale. I guess it’s good to know what I’m dealing with. And to know that yes, it seems like an awful lot of weight to lose. Yes, it’s the heaviest I’ve ever been. Yes, I’m really out of shape and have lost all my health and fitness. But! YES, I can get it back. Step by step. Positive choice by positive choice. So today is that day. Step One.

I bought the scan app for daily burn and am having fun with it! So easy and for me I like gadgets so may make it more fun to log food. It’s 4.99 if anyone interested. I am not sure or have not figured out how to link it to here but I have logged my food today. No Mountain Dew for me today! I have been doing research on diet and regular soda And they are all so bad for us so I am going to make a good effort to drink only occasionally and hopefully quit it all together in time!

Holy shit I did it. Day one in the books. 1500 calories AND a 3-mile walk, courtesy of Michelle Widger. Why is she not in this challenge? Bug her, Angie! ;)

Ok! I will BUG her Jolene! Haha! I did ask Sandy if she wanted to be invited. Although she was thankful for the thought, she admits to doing bad with logging on daily burn. She said she is using a different site. Fit day maybe? Can’t remember. Anyway, since we are all fighting our own battles, we have to figure out which works best for us. I guess since I started with Daily Burn and have put in the time to figure it out, I like it. Plus, I already have all my food and workouts (favorites and routines) programmed in here, so it works well for me. Unfortunately, I didn’t weigh my self yesterday or today. I keep forgetting! I knew what I weighed a few days ago, but I also know it doesn’t really matter. What matters is when the numbers start going down! I doubt that they’ve done that yet. I’m also just a few days away from aunt flo, so I know the numbers are currently up and I don’t want to see them anyway! haha! Hoping if I do somewhat good this week that by next week the scale will be less than it was on Sat. Ugh… I did great for food yesterday until I came home and ate Jon’s wonderful homemade spaghetti. It was really delicious and then I didn’t log my food. Going to do that now, hope it’s not as bad as I think it was… It’s probably worse!

Ok, I logged my food. It turned out better than I thought, so I’m confused. I tried to be honest, but maybe I should go back and add more. Oh well. what ever!
Keri S. ~ What is the scanning app? Do you take pictures of your plate of food? or do you scan the boxes or what?

Hey girls! Well, off to a bad start…ended up in the ER Sunday night with what I believe was a gall bladder attack. Nothing like being forced to step on the scale! Was trying to avoid it, but I guess it was time. Well, it came up in kg instead of lbs, so I had no clue how much until I did the conversion online and yep…confirmed it! All time high (except pregnancy weight) YOWZAS!!! Ok, so I haven’t been able to eat much since the attack…still have a weak stomach and honestly feels like I did 1000 crunches! This will maybe be a good way to jumpstart. Yet, it just confirmed my fear of poor health! Don’t want to go down that road, so instead I need to really take control. I like the idea of just walking Jolene!

I’m with you Kpea! It would take me 2 weeks to lose that much too! NOT FAIR! Did you make some ex-lax brownies Jolene? Seriously! On the 2nd day of our challenge and you’ve already lost 2.8 lbs??? How’d you do that! I soooo wish I would have weighed myself BEFORE

(whoops! must have pushed enter. Sorry!) I went to spinning class today and then again after. I would have lost more than that due to the buckets of sweat and then also from the after effects of hard cardio ~ time spent in the bathroom. Tried not to be too graphic on that one… :) Still! I’m just so jealous! Oh well, we each gain and lose @ our own rates. Mine goes on slow (faster as I get older) and comes off even slower.

Glad to see some of you @ the freezer cooking thing tonight. I’m really excited about getting started. I’m a little worried about my group finding the time to actually get together though. Like serious concerns…Having families with all teen agers means we all have extremely busy lives.

The way I lose weight is like this (especially when I’ve been eating like a bingeing pig beforehand). The first week I lose 5-8 pounds. After that – 1-3 pounds a week, depending on time of month. I lose 13-16 the first month, and then about 8 every month thereafter. Just my pattern. Trust me – the weight I just lost was all water, and if I eat a french fry, it will be back tomorrow. And it WILL slow down. Don’t worry! I’m not doing anything crazy!

Hello everyone! I was so excited to start another challenge, and then I got another injury on Monday. I am not good at being sick or injured….and if it is bad enough that I can’t fake through it, I am really mad/sad. I have been running 2.5- 3.5 miles at least 3 times a week, so I am super bummed that I might lose all of the work that I have put into it. I fell and hurt my knee Monday, and it seems to be getting worse not better. I am going to see a Dr. today and am hoping that it is just bruised and I can resume running tomorrow. (doubt it means I am having trouble walking today) I haven’t ran since Saturday and feeling pretty bummed about the situation. I absolutely know that there are many worse things that could be going on in my life and am so thankful to be healthy and well for the most part. Thank you for letting me vent though! :) So bottom line….i wont be starting this challenge very strong, but hope to be back at it soon. Thank you Jolene for getting us going again!! Teri Y

Hey Teri – Bummed for you! BUT, I know that you should rest, ice and elevate! If you take time to properly rest – you’ll come back even stronger! :) So glad you joined – sounds like you’ve been doing GREAT lately! And I miss talking with you! Hopefully I’ll be able to join you on some runs this summer, when I get my fitness back!

Started my period today. Oh joy! That will slow things down a bit in the weight loss department! Eating is going well. Cannot believe I’ve eaten well for 3 days in a row. Crazy! Exercise, not so much. Have only walked once. In my defense, I’ve been crazy busy and all my spare time is dedicated to vacation planning – we are trying to get something reserved for Christmas. Maybe next week I need to start early morning walks….still pretty cold out….and waking up early will definitely screw up my staying up late. Haha. But gotta get those walks in sometime! I want the mental and health benefits of exercising – not just for weight loss! So I have to make time somehow.
