This is a really cool challenge, hopefully it will get everyone to get out and move their butts :D |

This is so cool – my younger brother and I (both in our 40’s :) ) have talked several times of doing this for real – so this is such an awesome idea – it will push me to walk and to see how long it takes me to figure out if I could truly do it! I realize walking it for real is quicker as it’s all you do – but this is one of the most motivating challenges for me!!! |

I am walking the breast cancer 60 mile in less than 3 weeks. This is a great way to see other walkers out there and motivate me in another way. :) |

Can someone help me? The mileage i post in my workouts is not posting here. I do not want to duplicate it twice. Has anyone else had this problem? what is the solution short of logging it separate from my workout? |

SpiritWolf – If you walk on the treadmill enter it in walking rather than treadmill and it should count it. It doesn’t count treadmill work in the challenge. Hope this helps. |

Guess what, There’s 2,000 steps to a mile, So there’s 2175 miles that needs to be completed for this challenge, So the total you want to achieve is, 4,350,000 steps. Good luck with that guys, I’m gonna reccomend running a few per day, you’ll get there faster. For those of that can’t run, try the p90x program! :) |

I did hike the AT in 2006. It was an amazing experience. I hope that if you are doing this challenge to ‘see if you could do it’, then you already can do it. All you need to hike the AT is the time, the money, and the patience. It is just one foot in front of the other for days on end. I did it in 5 months with most of my miles between 15 and 20. But I started off really low in mileage. The trail trains you as you go and you build strength and stamina. I was excited when I first saw this challenge and then disheartened to see it was really just a substitute. Maybe it is just the thru-hiker buried in me. |

What would be really cool on a challenge like this would be if it told you where on the trail you were given how far you had already walked. For example, ‘You are approaching town x and are 57 miles from town y’. (Sorry I’m English so I don’t know the geography of this area well enough to know which places the AT trail passes through’. |

I start today! I plan on using my walking at work daily. I work in a large manufacturing plant that I do a lot of walking. I will also add my treadmill, and hiking miles. Cant wait!!! |

Woo-hoo! Finally finished this 2,175 mile challenge, the equivalent of the Appalachian Trail! Now that was some hike. Now I guess I’ll have to walk all the way back again! :-) |

No, I didn’t walk 142 miles in 1 day – that’s a compilation of everything since I last made an entry back on Jan. 23. I’ve been tracking using a datasheet in my PC. |
