Are there any plans on the horizon to develop a Gyminee application for Android based phones? :) -Matt |

This needs to be on Android. I would abuse my phone if I had Gyminee on my G1 |

I have an iPhone myself but I know at least one person that would join Gyminee if it offered a free Android app. Still waiting for the native iPhone app here. |

I think the easiest way to support all of the different platforms would be to offer a programming interface so that other developers could build application for their platform of choice. As far as I understand it, the Gyminee guys are working on an iPhone application which will use such an interface to the website. If done properly, the interface can be made available to outside developers so that we can build our own apps on it. I know I’m waiting for this in order to synchronize my j2me application (java for mobile phones) with Gyminee. I’m also looking at getting either an Android phone or the Palm Pre in the near future, so if the interface is available, there will be at least one application for one of those platforms implementing Gyminee stuff, too. |

I agree, either would be great. However, Gyminee currently lacks an API (application-friendly, behind-the-scene data exchange method between 2 systems) that would let different applications access/modify profile information. If Gyminee could come up with a standard and easy-to-use API then developers could easily develop a native application for any platform iPhone, Android, Pre, or a desktop app. Gyminee give us an API! |

I completely agree with uniqueculure here. Gyminee’s efforts would be better served if they focused on an API before focusing on individual platforms. The only possible exception being the iPhone, as others could easily monetize such a tool before Gyminee. |

As a side node, you can happily use Gyminee iPhone interface to access/modify your information. Just browse to http://www.gyminee.com/iphone. It’s not native but it gets the job done. |

Add me too. Fell off the workout wagon hard, but have (another) new toy in hand. With the release of the Droid phones on Verizon I think you’ll start to see a lot more people looking for an Android app. |

yeah i been waiting for almost a year. im slowly starting to give up on them porting the app to android. But they really should, there is an influx of android enabled phones all around the nation on many different carriers. the iphone app is cool, i played with it on a friend’s phone but it is only for att users, on the iphone, who workout, who use dailyburn….that subset is soooooooo small…… |
