I love that I can save my favorite foods so I don’t have to search the database each time. Would it be possible for us to have some way to organize our favorites by type or something? The more I get, the harder it is to find what I’m looking for. And since there’s no set standard for the food labels, the alphabet at the top doesn’t help much (Do I look under C for chicken, G for grilled chicken, M for McDonald’s Grilled Chicken, etc.). |

That’s a good point. The alphabetical index is a good start, but there is still room for improvement.
What if users could tag foods? One question that immediately comes to my mind is whether or not the tags should be public or private (i.e., if you tag a food does everyone see that tag, or just you)? |

Well, if they were tagged privately, I would probably tag foods into groups such as: Daily, Fast Food, Veggies, Fruits, Cereals, etc. Then again, most of those would work publicly, too. |

I concur. I was just thinking about this as my favorites list is starting to get long. I like the idea of tagging as well. |

I agree…my favorites list is starting to grow. And I never know what letter the item I’m looking for starts with. It would be very helpful if there was just a “Search within My Favorites” option. That way I could just type “cheese” and find the one I need rather than going through the whole database of cheese. |

My suggestion would be to have any of your favorite foods jump to the top of the list when you do a database search. Instead of scrolling through your favorites or grouping them, you just use the same search function (chicken) and the first result on the list would be your favorite. The “star” icon should also be greyed out so you can tell it is already in your favorite list, or it can be labelled as a favorite in some other way. |
