I am no lawyer, but from what I have seen in cookbook sites, etc… , since the WW point calculation is public knowledge (on file with the US Patent Office), the only time infringments come into play if there is money involved. Since there is money involved with this site, there is a little concern, however, as long as the admins of the site don’t provide anything related to weight watchers, I don’t think there can be an infringement. What you are doing is just telling people what the weight watchers points are for a food item. Now if the admins of the site decided to provide these values (or recipes) themselves and charge any money for it, then they would have a problem. But as it stands, they have just provided a database with some basic entry, search, and reporting abilities.
This is also why I feel it would not be in violation if gyminee allowed users to track custom nutritional values. Currently, users are able to track common preset nutrional values such as carbs, protein etc.. but it would be nice if they were able to define a custom attribute to track (such as is available to PRO gyminee users in the bodytracker) such as calcium, weight watchers points, whatever. Then I could easily see, in graph format how well I was going over a month period.
