I’ve been a regular DB user for almost a year, and a lot of the friends of similar goals I’ve invited over to DB don’t stick to the site for more than a few days. If you’re looking to build muscle, and regular maintain your workout and nutrition log, please feel free to add me as a motivator. Heck, I’m even open to tough motivation, and vice versa. I’d like the motivator to be as critical as possible. That’s how much I seek to gain weight. Hope to see you on my motivation list! |

Im more interested in burning fat and gaining overal fitness, but I would really like to find tough motivators as well. I want to feel accountable. Anyone interested? |

Of course, let’s motivate! If I may be cliche, there’s strength in numbers. Despite our differing goals, we can still benefit from nutrition monitoring, i.e., “HEY! WTF DID YOU EAT THAT ICE CREAM ON SEPTEMBER 14TH FOR YOUR AFTERNOON MEAL!?” |

@everyone Yeah yeah! AWESOME. Everyone should add each person they see here. We all need tough motivation! I want to see people giving bootcamp-worthy tough messages. |

OMG I totally didn’t set a good example for this forum thread by eating 4 kit kats yesterday. I’m SO bad. I’ve been resisting these kit kats in my fridge for 1 week now, but I everytime I look at them, it takes so much pain and effort to resist. I feel like a crack addict when it comes to kit kats. Ugh!!! |

solution: don’t keep cheat foods around the house |

You’re all worthless and weak! You can that a rep!? I’ve seen 75 year old grandmothers push it out harder than that! |
| Sep 30, 2010 8:34am |
I’m worthless and weak cuz I kept that cheap cocaine-filled kitkats around the house. My idea was to give it as a gift to someone (Japanese kit kats). Fack. No more! I swear sweets and chocolates, and junk food overall, are designed to not be edible little at a time. |

I’ve got the exercise thing down pat. I need to be held accountable for what I put in my mouth. Thanks! |

I am off to England for two days, which means: no sports and almost probably not the best food until Sunday… :-) |

Everything in moderation, and at the right time really. Kit-Kat at 9:00PM at night is a terrible… but 30 minutes before a strength training workout may not be the worst thing ever. I mean clearly there are better pre-workout substances to eat, but it’s got what you need, simple sugar, little bit of protein, etc. I’m a strong believer in cheating a little to keep yourself sane and on track. A little cheat here once or twice a week won’t kill your workout and prevents binging later on. Just my opinion. |

@rattler / a little cheat now and then is okay, but IMHO only after you learnt to eat clean and did so for some time – otherwise it will be just guessing about calories eaten and the results will be random… |

you need to bring the remaining kit kats that are not in the pit of your stomach to the office and distribute out. they will be gone in no time. do you have a “good” junk food to keep around the house for cravings? i like to keep frozen yougurt around. the 1 ounce of dark chocolate is also a good fix. |

@Ferdi / Yeah, I completely agree. Once you have managed to change your lifestyle and you truly understand how your body uses food, cheating is an acceptable way to enjoy life and stay on the right path. @risab / I usually keep frozen yogurt and light yogurt around the house, but really when I need to eat something I tend to pile up some peanut butter on a slice of bread. It’ll hold you over forever and it pretty damn healthy. Nuts are always awesome, very light caramel and apples is good, etc. |

@*rattler*, risab I usually kept special “souvenir” kit kats around that I buy when I visit certain areas of Japan (each prefecture has a unique kit kat flavour that represents that prefecture’s special fruit or cuisine). I figured I’d either send them home or sell some online (which I did actually). But when they’re in my fridge for too long, I’m honestly like Lindsey Lohan on alcohol. I can only resist the urge for so long. After that last binge though, I said fnck it, I tossed the last box in the garbage, unopened. I did what I had to do. My nutrition for Friday and Saturday sorta sucked, I didn’t record everything, though I’m still eating smaller meals in greater frequency – that part I got down to a habit. But like rattler, I still have these days where I cheat a bit. The problem is, it puts me off track. My favourite snack as of recent though is frozen bananas blended to smoothness. Tastes just like ice cream. Add protein, cinnamon, and voila! I’ve added everyone that sent me motivator invites from this forum, but since it’ll be difficult to monitor EVERYONE, I hope we can do this the Community 2.0 way and everyone monitor their lists at random, and if possible report back to this thread. I give permission to anyone here to release info on what I’ve been eating on this thread. Example: Just an idea methinks. |

well done – I also recommend recording EVERYTHING. At least it gives me great comfort to know exactly what is going into the system – it becomes a science project of sorts (nerd alert!). I’m even writing to a company that manufactures chilli and curries that I eat that does not print the nutritional values on the container to a) tell them WTF? and b) ask them for the numbers stay strong ;) |
