Hey everyone,
Yesterday I did my first half-century bike ride with my uni cycling team (we did 54mi) and I am really proud at having completed it. I can’t wait to build it up to a century (although that might not be for quite some time) and I don’t think I would be at this stage without the help and support of DB and my motivators.
I therefore wanted to know – what have other people done since joining DailyBurn that they are proud of?
This isn’t the time to be modest – it’s time to boast a little :P stand up and shout it out – let us all know what great things you have done!

I have found that I can do pretty much anything these days! I no longer sit around waiting for something to happen, I actually make things happen and I’m very proud of that. Taking control over one thing in my life, via DailyBurn, has allowed me to take control of the rest of my life too. I know how to plan, visualize a goal, act upon said goal and get the outcome I want.

The first thing that springs to mind is I have become the person that everyone at works come to for diet and nutrition advice. I’ve motivated a lot of my family friends and co-workers to make changes in their life. I love it when someone stops by the office to interview me about how I’ve gotten in shape.

Go David, Ang and J: You should be so proud of your accomplishments and the examples you set for other DBers. I am proud that I look nice when I put on a suit for work and everything feels comfortable. I am proud that I can wear leggings. And I am proud that my blood pressure and cholesterol are in the normal range. Thanks for the motivation, dedication and support. Let’s keep it up!

Several things happened since I joined Dailyburn that I’m very proud of. Much like Jbaird, I inspired a lot of people to get healthy and make changes in their lives, and that alone is a great reason to be proud of. First time I ran 10 kms was also a huge milestone for me since I had never run before in my life and always though it was impossible for me, now I’m addicted.
I’m also proud of setting a good example for my daughter and for putting my whole family in shape :)
I’m still working and losing the remaining weight, but the future looks awesome.

Great topic, let’s see if I can stay humble and modest though:
1. Loosing 115 pounds in 7 months
2. Rock climbing a few 5.10 routes
3. Running 6 miles and signing up for 3 upcoming 10K races
4. Honoring and loving my wife and daughter by getting healthy and staying healthy

I am proud of the fact that I try everyday to do something beneficial to my health. Gone are the days when I used to walk by my treadmill and say ‘I really should get on that’

Well, DH seems to be sabotaging my efforts by where he wants to eat from, but I’m doing better in my portion control, stopping and thinking BEFORE I eat, and trying to move around as much as possible. Even if it’s only one set of squats before the baby crawls onto me and pulls on me…that’s one more set that I managed to do vs just sitting on the couch feeling sorry for myself.
I’m proud that I stood up to DH today after lunch and said that he cannot do this to me again (wanted McD lunch Sat, dinner Wild Wings Sat, then Chili’s today for lunch).
I’m also proud that I’ve finally managed to shake some weight, and I hope I can continue on a good trend.

Icequeen_ah, good for you!
The thing that I am proud of is that I am learning proper portion control and am eating far healthier meals. Because its difficult for me to eat at work now I pack a lunch and save money!!!
My measuring cup is my new best friend.

lucky_cat13 – got to agree that measuring cups are my new best friend too! So much so, that I have my own set that I won’t let my flatmates use (you don’t want to know what states I found the first set in after they had used them…)
Congratulations to everyone who has posted so far – you all should be rightfully proud at what you have done, and you are all an inspiration!

I ran a marathon. (slightly before I joined DB though)
I’ve gained 5lbs of muscle and am the strongest I’ve ever been
For the first time, I am changing my diet: reducing fat and sodium while increasing protein.
I’m getting addicted to self-improvement :-)

It’s embarrassing to say that I kind of come and go on this site. However, It’s one of my goals to come here more often and keep better track of what I’m doing.
But what I’m seriously proud of since I started coming here forever ago, is that I’ve actually made some long term changes with the way I eat.
Instead of junk food, I eat mostly fruits, veggies and lean protein now. I’ve all but kicked my addiction to fast food, and eat it maybe once a month. And even then I’m making better choices.
Its an uphill battle sometimes, but I am super proud of my progress.

I was pretty proud yesterday when I went into Abercrombie & Fitch and ended up getting a shirt in a medium! I can remember going into A&F a few years ago in London and thinking I’d never be able to fit into even an XL from there so when I ended up in the M I couldn’t stop smiling! Still finding it difficult to stop smiling now :) Needless to say, I bought the shirt…

I know that feeling. I was sized out of regular clothing stores for many years, so realizing that nothing fit in the “plus size” stores anymore and having to go back to regular stores was a big ego boost.

I lost 29 lbs since joining and I have had to buy new clothes. My original goal was 180 lbs, but I changed that after 3 weeks to 175lbs. I am 1 lb away from that goal.
The crazy thing that started me down this road? Flossing my teeth daily.

I haven’t really seen any progress yet…but I love that I have changed my mindset to get in shape. I’m more committed to this than I ever been in the past…by far. I’m more motivated than ever before. Last time I worked out more than 5 days a week was back in high school football doing 2-a-days (14-16 years ago) and tonight I’ll be going on my 7th day with exercise (at least a mile running each day, with 3 days of weight training, mwf). I just can’t wait until I see some progress.

Since joining Daily Burn, I have:
Lost a much-needed 15 lbs (back to my high school weight yay!)
-Ran a 5K
-Joined a Masters swim club
-Changed my eating habits permanently for the better
The last one is especially important, and is one that I’m really quite happy about. I changed my eating habits permanently enough so that even when I wasn’t recording everything, I maintained my weight.

Last year when I joined DB and got into great shape, I went out and hiked Pike’s Peak with my wife. 13 miles up, and 13 miles down.

i’ve lost over 30 pounds, started eating healthier, and thanks to all the knowledgeable & dedicated people on this site, i’ve learned so much about what i means to lead a healthy lifestyle—from the facts to the philosophies. :)
i ran my first 5k since high school last summer, i’ve biked over 20 miles in one trip…lots of great physical achievements aside from weight.
in the spirit of my motto: “always be happy with yourself, but never be satisfied”, the next thing i do that i will be proud of will be to lose inches around & tone my arms. i’m a high school choir director, and conducting is a naturally emotionally and physically exposing art…and it gets that much harder to make art when you’re worried about your arms flapping around! :D
