I know the best thing is proper sleep and diet but I am having some crazy times. I have tired the OTC drinks (monster, red bull, etc) But I was wondering what everyone else uses to help. |

Hi sprocket, I used to consume huge amounts of caffeine, especially when I was overseas. I would stay awake for days at a time, so it would’ve been impossible without it. Of course I continued this habit when I got home. I then found out that I had a severe case of anxiety and PTSD, and that consuming caffeine would only make these things worse. Alright, that’s enough about me….The bad thing about drinks like Monster and Red Bull is the crash you get from them. Sure, you might feel pumped up for a couple hours, but it quickly wears off and you feel worse than before you had it. I found that consuming green tea (whether a cold, bottled product or the tea bag in hot water version) gave me a little energy boost without the nasty crash. One last thing – If you’re going to drink monster, make sure you have the blue one (low-carb). The green one has about 300 calories, and I don’t even remember the sugar and carb content. People that drink this one like it’s water will probably notice a little weight gain, much like those that drink a lot of soda. Hope this helped you out a little…… Jake |

I am a coffee nut trying to cut down – so I use ExtraEnergy from Genuine Health It still has caffeine – albeit “naturally occurring”. I think it is a healthy alternative and sure beats the heck out of those OTC energy drinks. |

I use breathing (pranayama) to refresh mind and keep focussed, and chunks of (black) sugar to get instant physical energy. That works much better than all the energy crap products I have tried, as you always find yourself even more tired a few minutes later. And well, sugar is sugar, if you have to take some, get quality at low price. I drink coffee and tea but I am not addicted to cafeine in that way. I need it as a painkiller sometimes, not to keep concentrated because you tend to get nervousness at the same time as the boost. Even you don’t notice, others find you unpleasant, not as patient as you should… |

Hi guys, They have a free trial, but it seems like it could be one of those things where if I forget to cancel within 30 days I’ll get hit with a huge credit card charge. Is it worth it? |

Monster, Full Throttle and most other OTC energy drinks are nothing more than a can full of sugar. And sugar is not what you want in your diet. You should try a muli-vitamin for active adults or something like the P90x Peak Health or the Performance Formula or even the Performance Pack from Beachbody, they incerease your energy and help speed up your recovery time. Heres’ the link, http://beachbodycoach.com/txguy35 If you have any questions just shoot me an email. |

well I’ve been working on cardio and weights 3 to 4 times a weeks now for 3 months. Last week I strated feeling really tired after my work outs and the next day only a couple hours after waking up. I’m not losing lbs but am losing inches and adding muscle. Because I’ve been so tired lately I just strated takign a daily vitamin which I shoudl have been taking all along. I think I am demanding more out of my body than I am putting back in. |

Caffeine is not bad, it’s the sugars and simple carbs in all those energy drinks thats going to ruin you nutritionally. I would stick to a decent pre workout shake with no sugars and then rely on your complex carbs and healthy calories to get you through the rest of the day. |

I think the main issue that we all have is absorbing the energy straight away. Obviously there are the old fashioned methods like a banana before your work out. I’ve actually found that when I am doing cardio, energy patches actually work quite well http://viepatch.com/products/vie-energy-boostin… Hope this helps guys x |

Different people have got different choice of diet and supplement but they all choose their diet wisely and knowingly what is good for them. You should choose your diet yourself where you can get all the necessary bodybuilding supplements equally. |

I am breastfeeding now so i cant use caffeine, but what i would do before, was have one of those 5 hour energy shot……or sometimes, just half of the shot before i would go do my speedwalking (about 5 miles). I would also try to stay away from sugar during the day before using the caffeine……cause i heard thats what causes the crashing. I would use half a shot also to deal with the next day fatigue that came with strenous workout from the day before. and that seemed to help keep my energy up when i felt like i was good for nothing. and along side that, i make sure to take my daily multi-vitamin, and B-12 lozenges. And also make sure my movements are regular (sounds gross i know. But when your body isnt functioning properly it can really affect your energy and really mess with the clarity in your thinking. fatigue and depression are the last thing you need when trying to live a healthy happy life.) |

I want to request you don’t use any drugs for good sleep. because after some time you will get addicted to this drugs and it is very harmful for your health. You know very well that for goof health exercise is good medicine. When will do more work and exercise you will get tired and after that you can sleep well and if you get a good sleep proper food you will stay healthy. Try to avoid to take Supplements and all. |
