Subject Description

I really like the iPhone option you get when you have joined a training program and it displays your next workout along with the date and allows you to log the workout very easily.

Is there a way to achieve the same with a custom workout? I tried scheduling my workouts on my calendar but it doesn’t do what I want in the app.

Is this possible to do?

Using custom workouts on iPhone

Tell me if this doesn't resolve your question. I am using my custom workouts on the iPhone. I create several "Custom Workout Routine" (one for each of my workouts), then I launch the iPhone app, click "Track Workouts" then click "Custom Routines" and then pick the one I am doing that day.

It works okay. I find it difficult to put in all my instructive notes, but it does help me track my workout as I go. They need a better "notes" section for each workout (if I am doing dumbbell curls, I want to put in a note that says "do 3 sets of 8-10 reps" etc.... right now, I can only do overall workout notes, so I have to summarize all routines into one note per day.

Only two other problems: 1) the app syncing to the service (it's a good idea to verify at dailyburn.com that the information was transmitted correctly - it can be spotty) and 2) the next time I do the routine, the data is jumbled and I have to remember what weight I did last time and how many reps - it's often inaccurate.

Yes thanks I think it does answer my question. Sounds like you've found the best workaround to the problem.

It is a shame that custom workouts arn't supported at the same level as training plans. For example, soon as you open the iphone app when subscribed to a plan, the track workouts button says "Today's workout: X". By clicking on that then "start workout, exercises are in order with the number of sets pre setup telling you the number of reps required for that set.

Thanks for the warning about the syncing. I was going to same it would be nice if the above was added but it sounds like there are more fundamnetal issues to resolve yet.
