I'm in a similair situation living at school.  What I try to do is base breaskfast around two servings fruit, base lunch around two servings of vegetables, and base dinner around a serving of fruit and vegetable.  I add in usually one other food item with each meal such as carb or protein.  Really sticking with a lot of fruits and vegetables it's hard to go wrong.  Just always track calories as best you can no matter how healthy or unhealthy your meal is calories are in charge of weight loss.

Your focus should be getting 5-6 meals a day but 2-3 of those meals would be cnsidered snacks, such as low sugar yogurt, or 1/2 cup lf cottage cheese and low sugar granola or whole grain cereal.  Even a protein shake if you can afford to spring for a good protein powder.  At your meals focus on achieving a protein at each meal, as lean as possible, a low glycemic carb such as whole grain anything and vegetables.  In the morning a few boiled eggs with oatmeal, and a piece if fruit is ideal.  At dinner just be conscious of your starches and keep them to a minimum with an emphasis on protein and vegetables or leafy greens.  Nuts and seeds are also easy snacks to always carry with you even when stuck in class.

Good luck.
