Subject Description

So how are the students out there planning on dealing with the most stressful time of the year AND staying on track with their fitness goals?? I think the two are complimentary. Any thoughts?

I head to the library with my study materials and laptop as well as gym clothes in my bag. I suppose you could wear the gym clothes but I always work up a sweat so I wouldn't want to wear them after. Anyway, I study from six pm until around ten pm. Then I head to the gym. Spend an hour there and head back to the library. The exercise keeps my enerygy up so I can continue studying until around 1 or 2 am sometimes until 3 if  need to. I then go home and pass out.

Anytime I plan on spending a lot of time sudying, I always pack healthy snacks and get out of my dorm. My favorites are green grapes, hard boiled eggs, carrots, and string cheese. I also bring a water bottle and keep a source of caffeine on hand. Depending on how tired I am, it could be an iced americano, a sugar free red bull, a cup of green tea or a diet coke. I make it last hours so I have a constant stream of caffeine entering my system.

Another one of my strategies is to study in a space that's a little chilly. The cold keeps me alert. Chewing gum also keeps me focused and keeps the munchies away.

Complimentary or Exclusionary?

Some might say that studying and working out are complimentary, but I have the tendency to make them exclusionary. What I mean is, when it comes to studying for major exams, I feel like I need every minute to study, so my workouts fall off, and unfortunately, so do my eating habits... Does anyone else feel like that?

I'm studying for my board exams for med school right now and keep coming to that decision, to forgo a workout to get another couple of hours studying in before or after being at the hospital all day... that's why I joined Gyminee though, hope it'll help me stay on track!

I am the same way, all of my power and energey goes towards studying or at least I have myself convinced I do but really I am off procrastinating.  I will try to get to the gym when I can unless I am really bunkering down to get work done but as soon as it's over I am right back into the swing of things again.
