Subject Description
Glad to see you on Gyminee! I've been a member for some time, but I just decided to get serious and use it to track my workouts and weight loss.
I've always worked out - but never very consistently. And never enough to stay thin! Christmas 2006 my wife gave me five sessions with a personal trainer, Al Scardino. I've been seeing Al three times a week ever since! I feel like I'm in much better shape, but my weight hasn't changed at all.
So now it's time to get serious about conditioning and weight loss. I'm at a new club now, Club One, and meeting weekly with a trainer there, Jack Cotter. I go in six days a week - I lift three days a week, and do aerobic exercise for at least 45 minutes the other three. I'll be logging my workouts here.
Jack has also asked me to track my food by taking a picture of everything I eat with my camera phone, and logging it here.
My goal is to lose a pound a week for the next year to get to a target weight of 180. (And then, I hope, to 170.) I know you'll support me in my goals to get in shape, lose weight, and stay healthy. And I hope I can support you to reach your goals!

My name is Jo An from SE Michigan. I have been a fan of Leo's ever since I can remember...and watch his network faithfully. My GEEK ADDICTION is all his fault....well a little is Patrick Nortons and the SS Crew!
When he started this group on Gyminee I was so grateful! This is just the thing I need! I must admit that counting calories is a horrible adventure. They add up faster than bills! ;)
Once again thank you for yet another tool to help us in our quest for tech and health!
I will be looking forward to hearing from the members.
I am a 35 year old father of 4. With 3 boys and 1 girl you would think I am always active, but I have to dissagree. Because of the food I love to eat and the sedentary lifestyle I live, I am the heavyest I have ever been. I have been in the tech industy for about 17 years, and followed Leo starting back in the Screen Savers days. I listen / watch almost all of the shows from TWiT channel. Enough about me time to do some push ups. LOL
Hi,y'all. I've been a HUGE fan (literally and figuratively) of Leo's since CFH and TSS. Glad to see the Chief Twit is leading us into lifestyle changes.
I've been doing several different "diets", and I'm now doing a modified version of the Raw Food Diet. It's not bad, but I have to have some sort of meat every once in a while. :D
I do walk every day (primarily because I don't own a car, so I have to either walk or ride my bike), and I estimate that I walk close to a mile every day. I am going to try and exercise just a *little* bit more. :D
I'm Krista, and I've also been a fan of Leo's for years now--I used to watch him and Kate on TSS in the late '90s; when we moved to Texas, we had to get digital cable just so we (OK, I) could keep watching TechTV! :) I have been thrilled to rediscover his new broadcasts on TWiT.
A word of encouragement for those just starting this journey--if you do the work, you WILL get the results! I started out by getting in shape, going from struggling to run 10 min in May, 2008 to running a half marathon in November--I was in good shape, but didn't lose much if any weight. I started watching my food intake in December while trying to maintain my exercise schedule, and have already lost approx. 15 lbs. Yay! If I can do it, you can do it too--just hang in there, be consistent, and keep at it!
I'm Mike from North Carolina, alias "Sorrybum" in the chatroom. Like most of you, I go back to "Call for Help" and "The Screen Savers" with Leo. My first computer was a TRS-80, running Visicalc. I've tried to stay active, although I never was a jock. Also, I found out years ago that my uncontrolled appetite can far outpace my exercise ability. At 71, I'm not ready for the rocking chair; so I'm earnestly trying to lose the 25 extra pounts I habitually carry. I just learned about this group today and am excited. I'm trying to follow Dr. Joel Fuhrman's "Eat to Live" program that I first saw on Twit Fit six months ago. I also am trying to follow the seven step program laid out in the book "Younger Next Year"by Chris Crowley & Henry S. Lodge, M.D. I've joined a gym and try to workout three days a week. The other days I try to walk for an hour, keeping my heart rate between 70-85% of my maximum.
