Most of the forums these days allow you to have your site's link in the signature. A forum that gets a lot of traffic can have its posts often ranked on the first page. You want to get off on the right foot with any new forum, so just be sure you know the rules. When we're talking about link building, we cannot ignore article submission, and there are many article directories out there that accept and publish articles for free. If you want to use article marketing, then be proactive about it and seek to get syndicated as much as you can. Using article directory submitters on all the low quality directories is a waste of your time. Since backlinking is time consuming, you never want to waste it with articles for backlinks on directories. Avoid trying to save time by writing crap articles because that, too, has gone by the wayside.

There are millions of blogs with some being in your niche, so consider guest posting or guest blogging. These blogs want regular, fresh content and guest bloggers supply them with that; so they get content and the blogger gets exposure/backlink. You can do this on blogs that are not totally relevant but maybe related, so you need to check that out. Just like blog commenting, you will not set the world on fire and it takes time. You will need to do your research and find as many blogs as possible, and then just start contacting them and see what happens. We have talked about a few backlinking methods that will work very well if you try. These are the kinds of strategies that successful marketers use all the time, and they just go out there and do it. Also, don't just depend on what you learned here and other places, but do take notes from your own experience and learn from your mistakes. In fact, you will never be able to find or use all the various methods on the net.
