Tea cups

"Woe to you, teachers of the
law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish,
but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First
clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be
clean." Matthew 23:25

Self-indulgence~

· indulgence: an inability to resist the gratification of whims and
desires

· intemperance: excess in action and immoderate indulgence of bodily
appetites, especially in passion or indulgence; "the intemperance of their
language"
wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

Hypocrite~

1 : a person who puts on
a false appearance of virtue or religion

2 : a person who acts in
contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings

I’m flip-flopped… I am usually so consumed with taking care
of the body God gave me (which is not bad until my body becomes my idol) that I
crawl into bed many nights and realize I haven’t paid much attention to the
most Important Person in the world!! I too am a hypocrite in that I believe spending
time with God and developing a relationship with Him is the most important
thing I can do, but …. I don’t walk the walk very well. I try my best to have
the outside of the cup clean (by exercising, etc), but inside (my relationship
with God)… is a different story. It’s very hard for me to read the Bible and
pray for an hour, but I can easily exercise for the same amount of time. God is
opening my eyes to see that He wants to be my life not just be in it! Slowly
but surely, I am growing closer to God.

Has anyone heard the song “The only thing that’s good in me
is Jesus?”

Strength

The Lord (is) my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he (is) my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and Ib will exalt him. -Exodus 15:2
