Subject Description

Hey guys,

Welcome to the group. I just found this website from Apple.com and like it. Was suprised to see there wasn't a group for gay guys, so here it is.

Obviously we want to have serious discussions about health and fitness and have a safe place to discuss guy stuff. So again, thanks for joining.

Hi Springbored,

What works for me is a 3 days split program with mostly free weights and for the cardio I'm cycling to work 5 days a week and over the weekend if the weather is nice.

If you are new to weight training I'll advise you to ask the fitness insructor at your gym to give you an all round training to start with and to follow for at least 3 weeks before moving up to a split program as mentioned above.

And just keep recording your calories intake, it's a bit of a nuisance but it forces you look at all that you eat and to focus on your eating habits.

I hope this helps

I agree with Seb, a three-day split works best, especially if you are beginning. Look for the 5x5 program in the Workouts list, it's well-done, it makes sense and it works. And yes, make sure you have proper technique. There are some excellent books that can teach you proper technique, way cheaper than hiring a personal trainer and still efficient

Like Seb, I do my cardio outside the gym. I bike to and from work everyday, to run errands, etc. It's a lot more fun than running on a treadmill, and helps in improving your lifestyle ;)

Hello from Toronto

I looked at Gyminee a year ago but decided to renew my Fitness Journal subscription. Taking another look now before renewal time.  Nice to find this group - maybe there will be other gay gymrats from Toronto turning up.

Wish everyone a happy and fit new year.
