Banana Smoothie

Here is a good one I discovered.  The banana is subtle so it's great if you don't like really strong berry flavored smoothies.

1/2 a block of extra firm MORI-NU tofu

1 large ripened banana

1 cup of soy milk

1/2 tsp of vanilla or banana extract

sweetener to taste (Stevia Plus, Honey)

soy protein powder.

5-6 ice cubes

Combine the tofu and banana first and blend until smooth. Slowly add the soy milk and other liquids followed by the soy protein and then the ice.

Sprinkle some nutmeg on top to add an extra kick.

A good inexpensive blender (smooties)

Could anyone suggest good inexpensive blender that could handle frozen banana and easierly liquify vegetables without buring out?

Looking at the Vitamix but damn...the price! :)

My Tofu Smoothie

pettyboo - I have a cheapo cuisinart blender that does the job.   Costs <$30 I think.

Here's my fav tofu smoothie:

Yummy Protein Power Energy Smoothie

These days, I seem to be eating one of these every morning. They make for an especially satisfying meal when I'm eating 5-6 meals per day. Many thanks to Mike C. for implanting this idea into my feeeeeble brain!

6 oz silken tofu
1 ripe banana (or other fruit of choice)
2 scoops (60g) of GNC Vanilla Whey Protein powder
1/2 cup juice (I use Central Market's fresh squeezed Red Delicious Apple juice)
A handful of ice.

You know the drill: throw it all in the blender. Blend. Pulse pulse. Blend.

Serves 2.

Smoothies rock!

Sounds good. Yeah I really like a smoothie in the morning. Sometimes I put oats in mine to make them even heartier. I've got a recipe for one I like up on my website at www.Yeowzers.com under Raw Eating --> Making a Smoothie

The navigation is up top on the site. Also I have a link to a magic bullet blender on that page, with an ad for it too. It is a great workhorse for me and grinds up frozen fruit no problem.
