Feeling larger after working out

Subject Description

So I am working out again doing mostly floor workouts such as crunches and such.  Although I know that something is happening because my muscles ache but I feel a bit larger and heavier.  Is this something others have gone though?  If so does it go away and will I ever see results?

Yep, it's happened to me also.

I'm thinking that because you breakdown your muscles and build them up to be stronger that the workouts, depending on how hard they are, causes your muscles to swell.  Plus, your body will retain water.  I've noticed I feel thicker the day after, and up to two days beyond a really hardcore workout.  The flip side is after the swelling goes down I get really really lean.
